Request from Leyscha. This is the promised long chapter to celebrate 10k bc everyone loves some good ol' "let's put our comfort characters through pain", right? And yes, I made a cover for this. I was bored, and I figured a long fic deserves a cover.
(art not mine!! I only added the text)
This'll be the aftermath of a serious injury, including the physical and emotional traumas. No major character death tho.
Last thing, don't roast me if my medical knowledge is kind of butchered, I'm doing my best but I don't know anyone with medical training lol
Settle in for a long chapter, and enjoy :)
It wasn't supposed to happen.
She was supposed to teach a saber class when she got back, her and her master were going to leave for a mission the next rotation, she promised Fives she'd join him for training the next morning before she left.
None of this was supposed to happen.
Ahsoka was on the Resolute when the attack happened. The force gave her a little warning. When the buzzing in the back of her mind sparked, she frantically looked around to try and find the source, and when nothing looked off she wanted to relax; but the buzzing wouldn't go away. It spiked.
"Everyone down!" She yelled to the few people in the hallways. They dropped, Ahsoka covering her head and diving in the other direction, but not in time. The blast caught her anyway, throwing her into the back wall with such a force she'd have thought she was being thrown by the waves on Mon Calamari.
The first thing she remembered was the ringing. The echoing, blasting, horrible music of the ringing in her montrals. Ahsoka's eyes fluttered open at the sound of sirens and yelling, clones barking orders and the sounds of screaming. In a moment she was hit with white hot pain to various parts of her body, and a dull ache in all the others. Her shoulder, a splitting, throbbing pain. Her stomach, a piercing, hot pain. Her head, a drowning, heavy migraine. Worst of all, her leg, a horrible combination of all three. Splitting, aching, throbbing, hot, pain overtook her and she practically begged herself to just fall asleep. It'd all be over if she'd just fall asleep, but an outside voice kept her awake.
"Commander, you have to stay with me," It said. "Open your eyes for me." She tried, she really tried, but she only got them open for a few seconds, enough time to see Kix over her. She remembered, she was supposed to meet Kix. That's why she was in that hallway, conveniently close to the medbay, lucky for her and all the surrounding clones.
The next thing she remembered was being lifted onto something. But what she remembered wasn't just being lifted, it was the horrible pain that came along with it and the small groan that left her lips. The groan that wasn't nearly a sufficient expression of her pain. After that, everything was black.
Alcohol, was the first thing Ahsoka thought when she woke up. All she could smell was alcohol. And not the drunk kind, the, "I've just been carried to the med-bay while I was unconscious" kind.
"You in there?" Anakin said as she attempted to open her eyes. "You scared us for a while, thought you wouldn't make it. You pushed through though, as always."
He sounds awfully calm, she thought. Her first instinct was to move something, anything. She tried her eyelids. With some discomfort, her eyes opened to the horrible white lights of the medbay.
"Hey m'ster," She slurred as the rest of her body woke up.
"Welcome back to the land of the living, Snips." As Ahsoka turned her head she was able to get a good look at her master sitting on her bed with her. A visibly exhausted Anakin, by the looks of it.
