That other one I'd been trying to write since I wrote the first one, so now is a chapter I'm actually super excited for.
Also behold more self indulgent platonic cuddling. Might rewrite at some point and bulk it up.
Enjoy :)
She could barely find time to eat three meals a day while she was deployed, let alone study for classes. How other Padawans managed to pass all their classes while being commanders in war, she didn't know. Ahsoka had quite enough pressure being apprenticed to Anakin Skywalker as it was. She didn't think it was possible, commanding troops, winning a war, taking care of one's self and everyone around you, all while trying to study for finals. Not sitting at her desk back in her quarters with a failed history assignment set in front of her, a few tears threatening to fall at the thoughts running through her head.
You can't even study for a history test.
At this rate he'll send you back
You're never good enough
Her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at her door. Quickly Ahsoka brushed away any traces of tears and went to answer it, expecting her master to be on the other side, likely angry at her test scores. Did master Nu tell him I failed? She thought, wringing her hands in front of her as the door opened. "Hey master," She said carefully. She did her best to make it sound neutral in case he hadn't heard.
His face looked slightly concerned when she opened the door, quickly moving to sympathetic. "Can I come in?" She nodded. Ahsoka upon realizing she left the data pad with her test open on her desk tried to shove it in a drawer as inconspicuously as possible. Anakin didn't seem to notice or care as he sat down on her bed. "Master Nu told me you failed your test today; she said it wasn't your first failed one either."
Ahsoka's face went pale and the panic immediately rose. She closed her shields tightly before any other emotions could seep through. "Ya. History," She replied quietly. As if sensing her thoughts, Anakin patted the bed next to him in asking her to sit. She did so, albeit nervously.
"How come?"
Ahsoka studied his expression for a moment: he wasn't angry, he looked rather gentle and sympathetic, leading a little of her panic to disappear. "I didn't study well enough, didn't have much time while we were deployed."
Anakin looked at her again, this time somewhat angry although not at her. "You were expected to study while you were deployed?"
"Ya, but I was given an extension too."
"How did you fail if you were given an extension?"
The girl looked smaller, he noticed, smaller than before, shrinking in on herself as if in embarrassment. "Well I had two day's extension for history, two for algebra, and one for mechanics, but they were all on the same days. I didn't have time to study for all three. I studied for algebra and mechanics since I thought I could probably afford a bad grade in history." Ahsoka turned her head to stare at her lap instead of trying to face Anakin's potential anger at her lack of discipline.
Instead of anger she got a hug. Not what she expected, that's for sure.
Anakin wrapped an arm around her shoulder and pulled her a little closer. "How about I talk to Master Nu about letting you retake the test? I can study with you if it'd help."
Ahsoka looked up at him through a few tears still lingering at the corner of her eyes. "You're not mad?"
He pulled away slightly to look her in the eye. "Snips, why would I be mad?"
"I couldn't even study for a dumb history test, how am I supposed to be a good Padawan?" She paused, hoping Anakin would cut her off but being granted no such thing. "You probably want to send me back," She added in a whisper she prayed was too quiet for him to hear. Unfortunately, he did, just barely.
Looking her in the eye and brushing away the stray tear that had made it's way down her face, Anakin spoke. "Look at me Ahsoka," She begrudgingly did as she was told. "I'm not training you because you're perfect, I'm training you because you need guidance. That also means helping you study for history tests, and making sure you take breaks. Don't you ever think I'm going to send you back, okay? The 'Corps doesn't deserve you," He joked.
Ahsoka let out a small giggle through the tears still falling. "Promise?"
"I promise. Now come on, you need sleep, and I don't plan to carry you to classes tomorrow." She continued chuckling alone with her master as Anakin stood her up, throwing the blankets back in anticipation for her to fall into them. Ahsoka did so, but only after throwing her arms around his waist in a hug she was at least a foot too short for.
"Thank you," She mumbled into his chest.
Anakin only replied with a chaste kiss between her montrals as he returned the hug.
Me, upon realizing I don't know what chaste means and looking it up: PERFECT, BEAUTIFUL, WHY HAVE I NEVER LEARNED OF THIS WORD
It just means doing something in a non romantic way, aka SIBLING LOVE AT IT'S FINEST
Have a good day/night/whatever and I'll see you when I see you :)
