Chapter 40

Chaeyoung POV

"Chaeyoung??!" I hear her voice. But I didn't react. I don't know what to do. I was numb.

"Chaeyoung. What happened to you?" She asked sounding concern. But I remain silent.

"Chaeyoung. Baby. Please look at me." She said then held my face forcing me to look at her.

When I look at her, I saw concern, worried and love. At moment I was lost in her eyes but then I saw my reflection. I saw how I look so distorted, lost and empty. Suddenly, everything replay in front of me once again, I remember what she had done. Just like being burned by her touch, I push myself quickly away from her. She tried follow me, but I immediately push the close button leaving her out. I tried to pushing the memories away. I'm here to help with financial problem. I went directly to my office where dad is waiting and was pacing back and forth worried.

"Chaeyoung!" He shouted. He running give me a hug and I reciprocate.

"Hello dad." I said after pulling from hug.

He looks at me and focuses at my wound on the left side of my head then down to my arms. I can see his face concern and worried.

"What happen to you Chaeyoung?" He asked pulling me to the couch.

"I slip." I simply answer avoiding eye contact.

"Well if I'm Miyoung age maybe I could believe you. I don't think a simple slip could give you that much damage. Come on Chaeyoung. You still can tell me everything. I'm still your father in law." Dad said softly.

"Its doesn't matter. Its irrelevant to the topic at hand." I said trying avoid the topic.

"Chaeyoung." He said sighed.

"I'm okay dad." I said reassuring him.

"Chaeyoung, I just-." He didn't get to finish his word, Mina rushed inside and quickly kneeled in front of me.

"Chaeyoung. What happened?" She asked trying to hold my arms wasn't broken but I immediately pulling away.

"Mina. I think you need to leave. Lets us having a talk first." Dad said softly to her.

"But, she's hurt and I want to know what happened." She tried a reasoning still kneels in front of me.

"Sweetie. I know. But, I think its the best for you to leave us for now. Let me handle this." Dad said pulling her stand.

"Dad. I'm her wife. I have the right to know what happen to my wife." She said pleading but I can hear anger in her voice while looking at her dad.

"Haha. You lose the right. Cheater!" I chuckle and whispered slowly to myself. But, seem she heard it since she immediately look at me with hurt evident in her eyes. I just look away.

"Baby. Chaeyoung. Please lets talk. Let me explain. Please." She begging trying to come near me again. I just look away as I can't look at her. Its hurt so much.

"Sweetie. Please. Just go home and rest. I want you have a full energy and everyone's attention on the matter I and Chaeyoung are going to handle now. Please honey. I will tell you everything tomorrow but for now go home and rest." Dad pleaded to Mina. She looks at me for anything but I just avoid her stares.

"Alright dad. Good night dad." She said defeated.

"Good night Chaeyoung." She said tried getting my attention but I still didn't react to her.

I heard she sigh before the door close. Now, I and dad finally alone. I also sighed silently. I can do this.

"So what happened?" I asked before he could.
