As we grow older, we start to trust the herd more & more. I will admit, initially I was very apprehensive towards them. But overtime, I came to trust & rely on them, becoming part of the herd, along with Nora. We were able to express our love for each other openly, much like Bai & Koa do. We were able to be authentically ourselves, even if we were initially a little hesitant to do so.

We each had our own roles within the herd, helping out where we could. I'd help catch rabbits & other small game with the help of some other draconi & elves, being much lighter on our feet than the centaurs. I learned to not rely on my fire abilities, which would cause a forest fire out here, instead learning street fighting & pickpocketing from some of the others in the herd, along with more smooth shifting from my human to dragon form.

Nora learned how to mend wounds & became skilled with a bow & arrow, slowly starting to come out of her shell from her meek self back in the village. We learned how to be proud of our love & our journey to the herd, & I started to learn how to become more compassionate toward those around me. We watched our love grow, & Koa's adorable little Lark along with it.

Through that whole time, we hadn't contacted Amery, afraid that whatever message we sent out could somehow be tracked back to us, or jeopardize his position as Chieftain. Besides, being in a nomadic herd, we moved around often enough that it would be an inconvenience. We just hoped the best for him, & did what good we could here in the forest. Helped each other with the hunting, the building, the caring, the mending... anything we could do.

It wouldn't be another 5 years before Amery contacted us again, out of the blue.
