I squeal with excitement as I check my phone during PE, the notification button bringing me a rush almost like heroin. Leo's new song just dropped! I put on my headphones, jamming out to the beat as I run my laps, a sick grin on my face, kids giving me strange looks as I pass them. Prob'ly wondering what the weird, nerdy band kid is doing, doing actual physical activity- what.
But I actually don't mind it if I have the music to listen to. The wind in my hair, the bass pumping in my ears, a wicked grin on my face... there's nothing like it.
I stop quickly at the finish, taking the coach by surprise as he marks down my time. His eyebrows raise in acknowledgement. "Good job, Robin."
I smile reluctantly. "Thanks, coach. Can I... head on in now...?"
He smiles slightly. "Well, if you're done your laps, you can go set your headphones down & get ready on the field. We're doing soccer today."
I open & close my mouth. "What. I- thought it was just a fitness day or something-"
He raises an eyebrow, smiling slightly. "That was yesterday. Now get your butt over there."
I sigh quietly, handing him my 'phones for safe keeping & trudging towards the field. I have a feeling he was gonna say something different than 'butt', but ya know... not a good idea for teachers to cuss or whatever... This is gonna be fun... can't wait to get hit in the face again by a soccer ball to the glasses... Love that...
What'd you guys think of this chapter? 1st intro to Robin... How will he be relevant to the plot, hm? ,':)
Again, sorry the chapters are short, I've always been weird about chapter lengths...
