When we arrived at the club, Salima guided us in, having been before, being the wild party animal she was. The bouncer, a tall buff human girl, probably wouldn't have let me in if it wasn't for her. They chatted a bit before letting us in & I couldn't help feeling that... Salima liked her~ But maybe that was just me reading into things, I dunno, I've always been a hopeless romantic, haha...
When we make it in, I'm instantly overwhelmed by the pounding of the background bass & the strobing of the club lights. Not in a panicky sort of way, just a I-have-to-get-a-little-used-to-this way. The crowd bops to the beat seeming in rhythm as me & Salima push through the crowd, trying to head toward the front, where the singer Leema mentioned will be.
We push through with more than a few excuse me's, albeit with some weird looks & Salima hands me a neon colored fluke from a tray.
"You want 1?" She asks, voice raised so I can hear over the crowd.
I nod, taking it reluctantly & sipping tentatively. The fruity flavor of the drink is undercut by the cool crispness of the alcohol, but nothing too powerful. Nothing I can't handle.
We finally make it to the front, right near the stage, thanks in part to Salima's centaur strength & people's surprising politeness to accommodate us, just as the music cuts & the singer steps on stage.
He strolls out, decked out in a sleeveless, high necked, tight-fitting white jumpsuit & matching heeled knee-length leather boots & I gasp. He's breathtaking... Warm blond hair falling gently over 1 shoulder, curves accentuated... Beautifully unique clear skin exposed... Well-defined arms...
My mouth hangs slightly agape & Salima grins crookedly at me, whispering, "See, I knew you'd like him."
I laugh nervously, just as quietly, nodding subtly. She was right, I do. He steps closer to the center of the stage & I watch his every move, only at the last second catching his gaze as it flits around the room & I see his distinct eye color. God, he's gorgeous.
He laughs lightly, not at me, but at the general crowd & soon everyone joins in. He picks up the microphone & everyone silences to listen. I sense in that moment that he's somehow valued by these people... & it being so many, I'm kinda hesitant to question it...
"Good evening, everybody..." He says, voice like honey. "I hope you're doing well..." I hear a few murmurs from the crowd & I lean forward slightly to hear him better. "It's nice to be out here tonight, it's always a pleasure performing for you guys... Now if you're ready, I'll take it away..." The crowd cheers loudly & he smiles softly & they quiet. & then. He starts to sing.
What do you guys think so far? Elio's got it bad, right? :D
