Chapter 12- Cal

It went easier than expected to tell Amery. He was surprisingly accepting. Not that that's out of character for him... Just that... I mean... living in a town where there aren't normally same sex couples or Draconi... it would be normal for someone to have some type of prejudice...

We decide that I can tell Indie during my Draconi training lessons the next day, just to space it out (& put less stress on us) & so that I can tell her in a private, safe place. Unfortunately though, that means that I have to tell her all by myself because if... Nora was there, that would draw too much attention on us, making us too conspicuous &... We don't want that... we don't want Nora's parents to become suspicious or take an interest in what's being said or going on & try to dig deeper into it... That wouldn't end well...

I find it hard to bring up though, as I'm at my Draconi lessons... How does 1 bring this kinda thing up anyway? Like, 'Oh, by the way, I'm in love with Nora, or something...' right in the middle of the lesson? No... Which is why I wait until right after it's over & Indie is about to leave to go back inside & finish up some cleaning or something, & I touch her arm, catching her attention.

She looks up at me questioningly & I clear my throat nervously. "Um... Indie... I have something I have to tell you... Something very important..."

She nods slowly, eyebrows raised & slight frown on her face. "Ok..." She sits on the grass near the dirt fighting circle & I sit next to her hesitantly. She looks at me, waiting for me to speak, & I draw my eyes to the ground as I do so.

"I... Me & Cal... are in love... have been for a while now... but... we don't know what we should do, so... I was wondering... if you could-"

She raises her hand, silencing me. "Are you sure you even like her... that way?" I nod certainly & she frowns at me, eyes sad but understanding. "Ok... wow... that... is gonna make things challenging... Are you ok with her marrying her Chieftain, or... is that too much for you guys?"

I frown, playing with the blades of grass nervously. "That's too much... I... don't think we could do that... It... we want to make this work..."

She nods slowly, eyes sad. "Well, then... Listen to me carefully..."

At least Indie's accepting of them, am I right? I mean... things could go real south if she didn't... could've told Nora's parents or something... But she's accepting, which is great :3 <3

PSA, you guys are awesome, & I'll always accept you. I know what it's like to not feel accepted for who you are, but I hope you come to this place & feel accepted. I know that's kinda cheesy, but it's true. I accept you guys (as long as you aren't axe murderers or something, lol). Bye <3
