"Are you sure it's going to be safe, though?" Dad asks, eyebrows furrowed, looking between me, Papa & Amir the following afternoon. "& how exactly will you get there, anyhow? There isn't exactly an ocean stretching from here to the city..."

Amir clears his throat, eyes hopeful. "The procedure should be safe. I'll be there with her, along with the mages to make sure everything goes smoothly... She'll bring the vials of potion home afterward... & I'm thinking I could get a carriage to the city... She can sit in a tub of water on the way there, & I'll make sure to moisturize her tail..."

Dad looks at Amir thoughtfully. "Wow, you've really thought this all out..."

Amir smiles shyly. "Yeah... It has to be within this month though, if I'm going to be able to help..."

He nods. "Oh... Ok... Is that ok with you, hun?"

I smile excitedly. "Yeah, that's fine, Dad! How about next week? The sooner the better!"

He looks between me & Papa before nodding slowly. "Ok, if you're sure..."

I grin brightly. "Oh, I'm sure! I've dreamed about being a girl for years! Nothing is going to stop me now!" They all smile at me, & I can't help feeling glad that I have such a supportive family & boyfriend.

. . .

We plan to go to the city next Friday & Amir says he'll tell his parents that we're just going to the city to hang out, if they ask. He still seems nervous nonetheless, & I assure him that when we're ready to tell his parents, if it's this summer, I'll try to support him the best I can. & hopefully it'll work out ok too...

In the meantime, we try to cherish our time together, & support each other despite the nerves &... time quickly running out for us... We don't know what'll happen after this summer... Just that we'll try to talk best we can, even if it won't be in person, & that... we don't want this to end...

. . .

When Friday finally arrives, I'm both nervous & excited, waiting for Amir. I... have always wanted this, but... now that it's finally arrived... I don't wanna mess it up... Not that I could but... nerves are never rational, I guess...

I look up at the sound of hooves on the road at the top of the hill, & see a white carriage with horses awaiting me, as though I were a princess. I giggle nervously, amused by the thought & wave at Amir as he descends from the carriage & approaches me.

I practically jump into his arms when he finally arrives at the water's edge, tackling him in a hug.

"Wow!" He says, a little taken aback, but pulling me into his lap nonetheless, a grin on his adorable face. "Excited much?"

I giggle, blushing slightly. "Yeah... I mean... a little nervous too... But yeah..."

He smiles understandingly, lifting me up bride style, 1 hand under my tail & 1 around my back, taking me by surprise & making me blush. "That's ok... I get that..." He clears his throat nervously, looking down at me, then back at the carriage. "Are you ready for me to... take you?"

I grin. "Lemme say bye to my family 1st..." I turn back toward the water, where they pop up to say goodbye. Papa & Dad, some of my older siblings, & not Szandra, thankfully. They smile & wave & my grin widens, feeling absolutely giddy at their support. This moment... is so big &... to have them here to support me... means so much...

After our last goodbyes, Amir hoists me up into a tub of water strapped down in the carriage, sitting down nearby on a bench within, before closing the door behind us. I turn to him slowly, face heating.

"I didn't... know you were so strong..."

He smiles shyly, rubbing the nape of his neck, blushing. "T-thanks... Not really... I mean... I have to be in relatively good shape for, like, self-defense & stuff... being an heir or whatever... Nothing much..."

I grin, winking at him & his face reddens even more. "Well, I think it's amazing."

He smiles goofily, eyes meeting mine. "You're amazing..."

"No, you..."

"No, you..."
