Chapter 82- Keilani

At the end of that summer, we say a tearful goodbye, hoping we'll see each other again next year. Unsure where our relationship will take us, but sure that we want to continue it.

Over the next few years, I see Amir every summer & write him letters the rest of the time once a week. I slowly become more comfortable in my body, and gain some self-confidence. My dads slowly start to understand & support me more than they already did, & I join in helping raise my younger half-siblings & hanging out with the 1's my age.

Szandra becomes less & less involved with me as time goes on. She still sees her kids, but they don't value her opinion on me anymore, & she doesn't say anything about me, for fear of upsetting my dad. Though she still does give me the occasional look. But I've learned not to care.

Amir tells his parents about us, who seem confused by the whole thing, but are willing to learn. They, along with all my family, support our relationship, & let us figure it out for ourselves, which does take some time, but I appreciate their patience through it all.

When Amir turns 21, he abdicates the throne, allowing his younger sister to take it, whenever his parents retire, & hires the mages to turn him into a merman, after we talk the issue through. He joins me in the ocean, living with me & my family, in our world once more. He seems amazed by it all, & his parents & mine support us whole-heartedly, his parents agreeing to visit all of us every summer.

& at 24, we get married, near the same rock ledge where we met. Amir says the wedding seems much different than a human 1, us being in the water, but we're happy nonetheless.

I wear a white swim top & flower crown. He wears a matching 1. We process through the water, similar to a human wedding, swimming around each other towards the end, before joining hands. & with all in attendance, we profess our love for 1 another, & kiss. Everyone cheers & we couldn't be happier.

Now living with my family in the oceans near the beach, Amir's family continues to visit every summer & we're all 1 big happy family. We have our own private underwater cave, similar to my dads', & we even hope that maybe someday we can have a pod of our own. But for now we just soak in each other's company, so glad to have met.

Aww, that was cute :3. What did you guys think? Did I end it well? I wasn't sure whether Amir/Keilani should end up on land or in water at the end. It took me a while to figure that out, but I feel they'd be happier in the water. They don't wanna leave Keilani's family behind, & it would be so much pressure for her to be queen with Amir otherwise.
