"I- I mean, biologically, yes, but... I've never really felt like much of 1... I've always felt like a girl..."

His eyebrows raise. "Oh, you're trans?" I nod nervously & he smiles understandingly. "That's cool. You... should have just told me, girl...? I could've been more... fuck, that makes me a real asshole now, doesn't it?" He looks me deep in the eyes, eyebrows furrowed together & I blush unconsciously. "I'm sorry... I didn't mean to misgender you, honest... If I'd have known..."

"-It's ok." I smile, feeling the weight finally come off my chest. "I mean... it hurt in the moment, yeah, but... you couldn't have known... Just... Thanks... for being so understanding..."

He smiled kindly, ruffling my hair & I blush again. "No problem. We see all kinds of people in the city, so I kinda understand what you're getting at, though feel free to educate me if I misstep. Is there... a name you'd rather go as?"

I smile shyly, twirling a piece of my hair & his face reddens. "I... Keilani..."

He nods slowly, eyebrows raised. "Oh, yeah. Like 'Kei', but longer..."

I nod quickly, too shy to say anything at 1st. "Y-yeah!"

He cracks a smile & nods. "Neat, neat. So... do you just want me to keep this between us? &... was that all you wanted to tell me?"

I nod slowly. "Y-yeah... I'm... not out to my parents at all... Not that you'll meet them or anything, but just to be aware of..."

"Oh, yeah..." He flashes a smile, but his face falls slightly, & I can't help wondering why for a second. "Thanks for trusting me enough to tell me though... I know that... must have been so nerve-wracking..."

I nod, smiling slightly. "Y-yeah, it was... But I'm glad I told you, I guess now... So... what were you going to say?"

"Mmm..." He grimaces nervously. "Don't be mad at me-"
