It's about another 5 minutes before we head back out there with the roses in a vase, pretending that nothing happened, but Cal gives me a suggestive eyebrow. I smile slightly, nodding minutely before setting them down in the center of the table. Luckily the food hasn't gotten cold & we enjoy it together with them. Conversation goes on, but I can't help thinking about everything that happened in the kitchen. I can't believe Ryouta actually likes me. I didn't know he felt that way... I was sure that it was just 1 sided or something, but this is great!
It isn't until after Cal & Nora retire to their room after the long day that me & Ryouta get to talk about it all, finally.
"I... didn't think you liked me..."
He smiles shyly, scooting closer to me on the couch. "Me neither... I guess we're both pretty oblivious..." We laugh & I put my head on his shoulder. He looks down at me slowly, eyes soft & face red.
"I really like you... do you want to be my boyfriend?"
He smiles brightly. "Yeah, of course. We could... go to the party tomorrow together if you want... as my date..."
I smile shyly. "Yeah, I'd like that..." I lean into him, taking his hand & he kisses the top on my head. I smile, happy that the awkward moment is behind us.
