As the years pass, we spend more & more time together, making it harder for us to keep it from the press. With my help & his own personal growth, Briar is slowly able to stand more & more up to his parents. Able to come out to them, to their astonishment. Able to get the loving support of his sisters, even if his parents are reluctant to. Able to refuse their previous insistence that he marry a queen, insisting that I was the only 1 for him, even when his parents still wanted him to get into a diplomatic marriage, this time with a prince, for their own personal gain, of course.

Able to retain his title as a prince when his older sister ascended the throne, even after his parents threatened to take it away. Able to reveal his true identity, "faults" & all to the public in a rousing speech that moved many who are different to tears. Able to get the support of the majority of the country, even when the press likes to make shit up on occasion.

I'm so proud of what we have gone through as a couple & what we have accomplished. We've grown to love each other more & more each passing day, which would have surprised our young selves for sure. Back then we had been so naive... too shy to ask for more than a passing moment with 1 another... Not realizing that this was something solid, something meant to last... Filled with so many happy days, some unremarkable, some a true tale to tell for the ages.

The day Briar proposed to me. In the office where we 1st met. Where we had started hanging out from. Where we had confessed to each other. Where we had held hands for the 1st time. Private, unexpected, but the answer certain. Accompanied by dinner & a song he had written for me.

Our wedding. On the beach where we had had our 1st kiss after 1 of his concerts there. A white suit for me, hair braided with flowers interwoven to match his, though much longer than mine by now. Him in a fancy matching white fitted jumpsuit. Salima & Ríona as our maids of honor. Briar's older sister Queen Dymphna officiating. The royal wedding of the decade with limited people invited to the private family ceremony & reception (with only Briar's close family & my super close friends, who are basically family, invited) & a brief public 1 at the club where I 1st met my husband as Blue.

Our honeymoon at a villa on that beach, swimming & soaking in each other's company. Enjoying the sun & the peace before we went to another of Briar's concerts, which he hadn't given up, but everyone now knew he was the prince & I could come whenever I wanted.

& through it all, the mundane & eventful, I knew that I could rely on him, & him on me. That we would always love each other. & always be close to each other's hearts, no matter where that took us.

The End
