- Ocean -

She's not breathing. She's not moving. She's not even alive. She doesn't twitch. Her eyes don't flutter. She doesn't gasp, or breathe. My throat closes off, and my purrs river beat throughout the ruined forest.

"Move aside please," says a soothing voice, "there may be a chance to saver her."

I look up to see a beautiful tortoiseshell cat standing above me. I stand up and walk a few feet away, where I sit down to watch her work. She turns Brittney over, and putts her front paws on the kitten's chest, and presses up and down on her, over and over.

I start to loose hope. Not again, I think, I just watched Mom die, please, not again.

The tortoiseshell cat starts doing mouth to mouth, blowing into her mouth, trying to fill her lungs. She quickly returns to pumping her chest, over and over. Pumping chest. Mouth to mouth. Pumping chest. Mouth to mouth. On and on, for what feels like forever.

"Thank you... for... trying to save her... I... I... I... really... hope... she... lives..." a crying voice breaks my slump.

I turn towards the sound. An orange tabby cat dragon sits down beside me. "You know, she told me she was a leaf cat dragon. I-I don't know why she would have lied. It's likely... I will never know."

"She told me that she didn't have magic," I reply quietly.

"Hmmm. Even though I'm her father, I-I've never seen her use her magic," he sniffs.

"Are you like... a friend of hers?" he asks.

"Sort of, I guess.

"Hmmm. I... I..." he stops to pull himself together, purring, his tears streaking down his face, "I... I... hope... she... lives."
