"I... I saw you... in the Land School..." says Brittney uncertainly.
"I hatched without gills," I tell her, "It's kind of my disability, I guess, not being able to live underwater with my family."
Her eyes widen and she directs her gaze at the ground.
"Three with disabilities; three with abilities. They will live with untold lies; they will live with hidden truth," the kitten mutters under her breath.
"What did you say?" I demand.
She jumps with fright. "Nothing. Nothing. Just some stupid prophecy I hatched with. It doesn't make any sense whatsoever. Something you said just reminded me of it..."
"Three with disabilities; three with abilities. They will live with untold lies; they will live with lies misunderstood.
"Yes, I know, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever, does it?" I say.
She looks into my eyes, my astonishment mirrored in her eyes. Her mouth opens and closes as she tries and fails to come up with what to say, so I speak to spare her the awkwardness. "I've always been confused why it uses the word three. But now, I realize that... there must be three who received this prophecy: me, you, and... someone else."
