- Ocean -
My biology class surrounds a small pond, in order to learn first hand the glories of nature. One of my classmates grabs a large rock off the ground. He laughs and talks makes bets with one of the other students about how high the splash will be. Realizing what they're up to, I feel dread. The student throws the rock into the pool of water. The water droplets fly towards me, ready to reveal my tail.
The liquid stops an inch away from my fur. It hovers. I stare at the water. Floating. I look at the cat dragon who dropped the stone. His white fur bristles with shock. My anger causes the droplets to fly at him, soaking him instead of me.
The cat gasps and waves a wet paw at me. "YOU USED MAGIC!!! This is a fluffy cat dragon class! You don't belong here!!!"
Everyone stares at me.
"I suspected you were one of the ones wanting an easy class," My teacher, Mrs. YumYum, says.
"No...I..." I stutter.
They only glare at me. You don't belong here, their eyes seem to say. You should have just stayed home. That's where you belong.
I only wanted to go to school... to belong... to get away from Carp...
The eyes glare at me. You want to go to school? Who are you?
I am a mer cat dragon. I can't go to school. I don't have gills. The mer cat dragon school is at the bottom of the lake.
The cat dragons glare at me. You don't belong. You can't go to school, you never will belong there.
I turn and run away, away from the school, away from my step dad, away from everything. Finally, I stop running. Sweating, and smelly from head to tail. I crumple into a ball and cry. The tears running down my face, clinging to my fur. I cry myself to sleep.
