Blackness, endless blackness. Silence, endless silence. Nothingness, endless nothingness.
Light pierces the darkness. Noise pierces the silence. Pain and feeling pierces the nothingness.
I blink my eyes open, squinting, only to close them again. It... hurts too much... What... happened?
Voices, reach my ears, but they sound too far away to understand.
My thoughts work like sludge, my mind to full of pain to think.
Pain. Pain burns like a constant presence. Pain, endless pain. My skin burns, with every breath. My lungs scream in agony. My throat scratched and raw.
What... happened?
Slowly, slowly, it comes back to me. The heat. The flames. The smoke. My voice, screaming for help. Figures above. The sky crying, water falling down, in a tumbling downpour.
I sit up with a jolt, opening my eyes. My eyesight blacks out before I can even see anything, my blood coming in a rush, and pain. Pain like a geyser, covering every inch of skin.
"Hey, take it easy," says a voice.
