The teacher paces back and forth. He mutters something about "being difficult." He opens his mouth multiple times, only to close it again. Finally, he turns to the other classmates. "What's a way to explain it? he asks, before turning to me, "hmmm. Try to imagine the particles in the air. Try to picture them as wet water molecules, coming together, not touching, but close together. Got it?"

I stare at him, wide mouthed and confused. Whatever he said, it all went over my head. "Um, could you say that again?" I request.

He sighs, and repeats his instructions.

This time I understand what he's trying to get me to do. He wants me to try to imagine the water molecules in the air. What does thinking of water molecules accomplish?

My biology teacher's words come back to me. She thought that you could figure out how to control the weather, if you were taught. I understand her thought process. Water is a large part of weather. Mer cat dragons can control water, right?

I concentrate, doing as Mr. Tux told me to. I picture small droplets of water in the air, coming close to one another. I can almost feel their wetness. I can feel their movement. I open my eyes. A foggy mist has started to form above me. It comes closer together to become a small cloud. I did it, I think, feeling proud of myself.

I can still feel the water in my cloud. The molecules keep coming closer. The cloud turns grey and rain starts to fall. Slow at first, but it quickens, falling faster and faster. All the drops hover inches from my fur, almost as if I'm surrounded by an invisible forcefield. The water merges together, becoming a dome above my head. The water and I become one. I can feel it, and command it. It moves away from me and lands on the ground with a splash, where I seeps into the ground.

I slump into the grass, suddenly exhausted. I pant exactly like I did when I ran from my biology class.

Everyone stares at me, their mouths agape.

"Wow," says Esemais.
