- Brittney -
Thoughts of Ocean swim in my mind. In and out. Squeezing its way into my thoughts when I least expect it. It enters my mind when I listen to my Biology teacher's voice drone on, talking about how awesome it is that we, as magicless Fluffies, get to learn all about nature, unlike the magical ones who learn about magic instead.
Ocean. The cat with sad eyes. He seemed to ease into being a little more trusting towards me... He showed me his tail! A mer cat dragon on land! Who would have thought!? Yet, I have a feeling that he is still hiding something. Maybe something to do with his dad?
"Brittney, would you care to tell the class why it is so important that we get to learn biology?" says the teacher, snapping me out of my thoughts.
"I don't know," I reply.
"Let me say this again, for those who weren't listening. It is important to learn biology so we can understand the world around us, so we can appreciate those who have gone before us, who had to find out for themselves all about the animals of our world. Those who traveled miles and miles to the different cities to learn all the different kinds of cat dragons. Those who did thousands of different tests and studies to discover what we now know about the plants and animals of our planet..."
She continues talking, but I don't hear any of it. This is why I wish I had magic. I'd much rather take an interesting magic class than a boring biology class.
The teacher starts talking about how their are dozens of types of cat dragons. "These are some of the types of cat dragons we don't have around here," she says. She uses her right wing, clutching a marker, to write the types of cat dragons down as she says them.
"There is the Nroh cat dragon. The Nrohs have a pare of red horns on the top of their heads." She talks about various other types of cat dragons and the unique types of magic they have. After the second one, I stop paying attention.
