- Ocean -
This time, I fly home from school. I'm a little wobbly in the air. My wings end up flapping unsynchronized here and there, but, thankfully, I don't fall out of the sky. Mer cat dragons, because of our time spent learning how to swim, we have a harder time flying. Before my flying class at school, I didn't know how to fly. My teacher suggested I practice at home with my parents, in order to speed up my flying progress.
I fly, the wind catching my fur, soothing my stressed out mind, while also burning my injured leg with a searing passion.
Down below, I spot my make-shift home, a nest made from a pile of dead moss and leaves. On it, a cat dragon stands. Her coppery red fur making me instantly know she is one of two cat dragons: Coral, or my mother, Starfish.
Oh, crap, I think.
I circle through the air, landing in front of the cat. Stumbling during my landing, I find my face on the ground.
"Ow," I say, standing up and wiping my face on my wing. I quickly check my wing for any blood. Thankfully, I'm blood free.
"Sweet heart! Where were you?" says the cat dragon, "I was worried about you!"
I look into her face. "Mom? You were worried about me?" I feel an overwhelming amount of shock. Mom worries about me? Does that mean... she loves me after all?
"Well... of course, son," she says, "I went to check up on you and you weren't there. Where were you?"
"I was... somewhere."
Mom tilts her head at me and says, "well, I'm glad you're alright!" I sigh. I'd honestly been hoping she would try to get me to divulge where I was, at least that'd prove that she really cares about me. Mothers should care about where their sons are.
