Sorry for the late update! I legitimately got stranded on the highway yesterday for 5 hours so I couldn't update and my bday was the 6th! Happy Taurus season!!!! <3 <3 <3 ♉️

I pulled into the long ass driveway of my parents house, my mind still all over the place. The smell of chemicals still lingered in the passenger side of my car as I looked over to the now clean seat.

Just before this, I had mixed all of my items into the bowl and applied that nasty ass paste. It, unfortunately, was the best method for getting rid of blood stains. Gotta know how to clean up your messes.

The mansion became more visible the deeper I drove, the sight of the chauffeurs at the door making me queasy. I hope they wouldn't be able to see anything, seriously. I don't need to kill anymore people... with the possible exception of Nico. Even then, I don't think I would be able to finish the job.

"Sagie? What are you doing here so late in the night?" My mother protruded from the front door with her reading glasses in one hand, her other hand flicked out as she walked hurriedly towards my car.

"Hi momma. It's a long story..."

"Oh darling, we have more than enough time." Did we? I'm not even sure I could sleep without getting killed. "Come inside."

I nodded my head, stepping out of the car and handing my keys to the chauffeur next to me. As I followed Mary, I examined the empty mansion in front of me. Last time I had been here was for the wedding and with Nico. It was weird being alone.

I had been alone all my life... I don't know why it seemed like such a surprise now. The halls were freshly polished and the marble was so shiny I almost felt blinded as I continued to stare in front of me.

"Guest room or old bedroom?" Mary spoke to me with her eyes still facing forwards. Did I really want to relive all the memories of my past? No.

"Guest bedroom."

Mary nodded her head and grabbed a hold of my hand, dragging me through the long halls and up the stairs to the next floor.

"It's just me and you, my love. Your father is on a business trip." Of course. That, I definitely remember.

"Always is." My mother stayed silent, her hand slowly pushing open the guest bedroom already freshly prepared for any visitors.

"Always is." Silence. "Do you want to talk about what happened?" Not with you.

"Not right now. In the morning?" I felt myself shifting from side to side as I stood right underneath the doorframe of the room. Mary took a deep breath while using her fingers to pinch the bridge of her nose before nodding her head. She was tired... she was always tired my whole childhood. "Go to bed mom. You need the rest."

Mary shot me a quick smile before turning around to leave and I slowly closed the door in front of me. Finally.

The moment the door was shut, I felt instant relief all throughout my body at the silence and the emptiness. Peace and quiet. I threw my body onto the sheets and took in the short-lasting coolness of my skin against the covers.

The cold painted my legs and arms with relaxation as I took deep breaths and took in the familiar scent of home. I need to use the bathroom. I stripped off the hoodie from my body, throwing the fabric down on the floor next to me. Deciding to slip off my sweatpants as well, I watched the bunched-up clothing hit the marble floor. Being naked was a different type of freedom.
