I wanted to give you all a little idea as to what Maya looks like. I searched "strawberry blonde curls" and the picture above is actually how I kind of picture her! I often leave my readers to imagine the main character how they want because I don't want to upset anyone with specific descriptions, but that's how I imagine Maya to look 😊 Her hair is literally how I imagine Maya's hair to be! So pretty! Anyway, let's continue with the chapter lol.

"I'll have the chicken salad, please."

"Sure. I'll go place your orders now." I smile and make my way to the kitchen.

I look at the clock on the wall as I pin the customers order next to the other orders. Only 30 minutes left of my shift and then Michael is taking us to the lake. I can't wait and I'm really excited to see him again. I turn my head, hearing my manager, Dave, call my name.

"Maya."

"Yeah?"

"Don't just stand there. Table 24 needs cleaning."

I turn around and roll my eyes as I leave the kitchen. I start cleaning tables and pick up some dirty plates, and as I look up I see Dylan walk in. What's he doing here? Before speaking to him I go and put the dirty dishes in the kitchen, and then I make my way back outside.

"Hey." He says as he looks me up and down.

"Hey..."

"When do you finish?"

"Why do you care? You haven't spoken to me in 3 days. Didn't you see the text messages I sent you?"

"I've been busy with work." He sighs.

"Mm, right." I roll my eyes.

"When do you finish?"

"In 30 minutes."

"I've got coke." He smiles. "I'll take you back to my place and we can have some fun."

"I can't. I'm seeing a friend after work..."

He lowers his eyebrows and chuckles.

"It's not like you to pass on an opportunity to take drugs. Who are you seeing?"

"Dylan, I'm working." I sigh. "My boss-"

"Who are you seeing?" He gives me a look.

I make a face and lock my jaw.

"Michael."

"Michael? Who the fuck is Michael?"

"I told you, he's a friend."

"Right, a friend." He scoffs. "Why haven't I heard of him before?"

"Because I haven't seen him in a long time."

"Are you cheating on me?"

"No." I roll my eyes.

"Don't fucking roll your eyes at me and don't lie to me either."

"I'm not lying! Dylan, I have to go before my boss goes off at me."

"What are you gonna be doing with him later?"

"Nothing! We're just meeting up, that's all."

He sighs and locks his jaw.

"I'll see you later, though, ok?"

"What time later?"

"I don't know? In the evening."

"So, you're gonna spend the whole afternoon with that guy and you say you're doing nothing?" He scoffs. "That's a long time to be doing nothin."
