🏖🕊🕊🕊🏖
2 MONTHS LATER
The crystal blue sea makes it's own rhythm while white waves harmonise and crash upon the golden sand. The clear blue sky above me doesn't have a single cloud in sight to block the rays of the beaming sun, and the smell of sunscreen and salt lingers in the air. The sunshine tickles my eyelids through my sunglasses and my feet sink in to the wet sand the further we get to the sea. I'm thankful for the sudden cool breeze because it's such a warm day.
I look at Maya's small hand, gripping hold of mine, and then gaze at her beauty as the breeze blows through her wild curls. I smile in appreciation at the nature around us and the fact that I'm sharing this wonderful moment on the beach with my beautiful girlfriend. She looks so cute in her sunglasses. She liked mine so much that she went and bought a pair just like them, and now we're matching.
She briefly takes off the sunglasses and props them on top of her head before letting out a shy giggle. I know she gets all embarrassed when I stare at her, but I can't help it. I love to look at her.
"Stop being a Hawk."
I let go of her hand and stop walking as I pull out my camera. She walks a few steps ahead, but stops to look back at me. And when she sees the camera, her smile turns in to a frown.
"No, Michael. No more pictures."
"But you look so beautiful with the sun kissing your skin and the way your hair is blowing."
"I look a mess." She frowns, laughing softly.
"No, you don't - you're perfect. Smile for me, pretty girl." I said as I steady the camera, ready to take her picture.
Her suppressed smile slowly grows wider from my words and I take the perfect shot.
"Thank you." I say innocently.
"I'd slap you if you wasn't so cute." She grins.
"Oh, really?" I laugh and raise my eyebrows.
"Yes, really." She goes to walk off, but I hold her arm and pull her back to me.
We smile at each other as I wrap my arms around her waist and she rests her hands on my chest.
"Don't say you look a mess." I shake my head.
"No?" She pulls a face.
"No."
"Hmm." She laughs softly and looks up at the sky.
I copy her and look up too, seeing a few birds fly above us.
"Say I'm a bird." She shows a big smile and wraps her arms around my neck.
My heart melts from her cuteness and I show a soft smile.
"You're a bird."
She gazes at me lovingly and flicks her eyes down to my lips before kissing me softly. I peck her plump lips a few times before we take hold of each others hand and walk along the sand.
"And if you're a bird, I'm a bird." I bring her hand to my lips, kissing the back of it.
She smiles before biting down on her bottom lip and moving her body in to mine as she wraps her arm around my waist. I keep her close by wrapping my arm around her shoulder and plant a sweet kiss on her head.
"You know what would make this even better?"
"What?"
"Horses. Imagine riding a horse in the sea and feeling so free with the wind blowing through your hair. It would be so much fun." She said as she gazes out at the sea, pulling down her sunglasses to block out the blinding sun.
