I make my way through the library in search of Maya, holding a bunch of red Roses in my hand. For once I actually find Maya at the reception desk instead of wondering around with a book in her hand. She usually dislikes the paper work side of things and can never sit still, so I'm surprised to see her stood there.

I walk towards the desk, but Maya hasn't noticed me yet. She's staring in to space and looks like she's in deep thought about something.

"Hey, sexy librarian."

Maya snaps out of her trance and turns her head. She shows a big, cute smile when she sees me and the roses in my hand.

"Hey." She laughs softly and raises her eyebrows.

"I'm surprised to see you behind the desk! You're actually working instead of reading." I smirk.

"Ha ha." She said sarcastically with a grin as she rolls her eyes. "Georgina, who does the work called in sick today, so I'm kind of forced to stay behind the desk."

"Mm, yeah, being forced to work is annoying, isn't it?"

Maya laughs and rolls her eyes again.

"What exactly is it you want? If you're not here to borrow a book or bring one back then I'm going to have to ask you to leave."

"Oh, really?" I raise my eyebrows and laugh. "I'm here to give these to the pretty librarian." I hold out the roses and Maya gives me a look as she smiles and takes them from me.

"Well, it's only me here today, but I'll leave them behind the desk for her."

I give her an unamused look and she laughs softly.

"Thank you, they're lovely."

"And I'm here to ask you if you're free tonight." I smile and bite my bottom lip.

She raises an eyebrow and scans her eyes over the Roses as she strokes the petals gently.

"Hmm, I'm not sure... I have a lot of work to do here, so I'll probably be working late, but I can find the pretty librarian and ask her if she's free tonight."

I smile and roll my eyes.

"I want to apologise properly for what happened at the wedding, so I'm taking you out."

Her smile fades and she gently puts down the Roses.

"Michael, you've already said sorry, you don't need to do all this."

"But that's not enough. I was a drunk idiot that night."

"No, you weren't." She frowns. "You apologised and we moved on - it's forgotten about."

"I still want to take you out, Maya. I'm not just doing it to say I'm sorry, I'm doing it because you're my girl and I want us to spend time together. I know things haven't been easy recently and you've not been feeling yourself, so I thought a date night is what we need."

She smiles slowly and tucks her hair behind her ear.

"So, is that a yes? Will you go on a date with me?" I grin.

"Yes." She giggles.

I smile and bite my lip.

"I'll pick you up at 7."

"Ok... you don't have to take me any where fancy, by the way. McDonald's at the lake would be fine by me."

"No, what do you take me for? I can't be buying my girl cheap fast food all the time. I can push the boat out sometimes." I chuckle. "I'm treating you tonight. I've got everything prepared and I've booked a table already."
