Chapter 25

The door to the coffee shop rang and you looked up to see the tall woman with spiky ash blond hair.

You couldn't help but smile when you saw her, she looks just like her son.

"Mitsuki," you breathed, pulling her into a hug.

"Heya girl! When I got your call this morning I almost thought you were going to tell me you were pregnant!" She exclaims with a slight laugh.

Your face blushed furiously. "I-I no..."

She rubs your arms. "Oh I'm just kidding hun. I'm glad you called though. I had something I wanted to give you."

Your eyes widened as you nodded. "Please come sit. I have something I want to talk to you about first."

As she sat down you felt yourself crumbling. There's so much you wanted to say but it was extremely hard to find the words. "How have you been? How's your husband?"

"Oh we're okay. We still miss the little jerk," she casually says and you smiled.

Being in her presence was slightly more comforting. "That's good. And yeah, I miss him too."

"How's the new apartment? I'm sorry you had to sell your home," she says, giving you sad eyes.

You cleared your throat. "It's small, perfect for just me."

"I'm sorry, I know you didn't ask me here for small talk, I just worry about you."

You couldn't blame her. Many people were worried about you. Uraraka and Midoriya would reach out, but with his busy schedule as number 1 and her trying to keep up with the baby, you didn't want to bother them with your pity party.

"You're right, I do have something to ask you," you started, swallowing before you could continue. "Kirishima came to me after the funeral. He told me that right before...Katsuki passed, they made a blood pack, and became alpha brothers."

Mitsuki lifted her eyebrows but didn't say anything.

"I just..." you took a deep breath. "Although I appreciate Katsuki looking out for me, I can't imagine being with anyone else. But-but my heat is coming up and everywhere is out of suppressants and and I just don't know what to do," you pushed the emotion down as best you could but your hormones were working against you.

Mitsuki reaches forward to grab your hand, her thumb brushing across your knuckles in reassurance. "Did you ask me here to ask if it's okay to have another alpha that is not my son?"

You cringed and covered your ears. "It sounds even worse when you say it!"

Mitsuki smiles and gives a shrug. "My Katsuki was always good at everything he did. But his biggest achievement is finally taking the step to become your alpha. Even in his death he cares for you. If Kirishima is who he intrusted his omega too, then maybe you should accept it."

You took her words in, stunned that she would be so open. "Are you saying it's okay to move on from him so quickly?"

She shook her head. "Don't look at it as moving on, but moving forward."

It's not moving on. It's moving forward.

The words stroke a different cord within you. You had to grasp your chest at how painful your heart felt.

"Why does it hurt so much?" You manage to say, your other hand clenching the table.

"A broken heart is one thing. A broken omega can only be fixed by one thing and one thing only; her alpha."
