His Best Kept Secret
Chapter 43

Your fist collided with a padded bag, sweat dripping down your forehead and back as you continued your workout. It's been three days since Todoroki's attempt at kissing you, and you haven't talked to him since. When you were home, you took your take-out food and went straight to your room, not even glancing in his direction. You knew you were being immature about this whole situation, but you honestly felt confused and very frustrated with yourself.

Because in that small moment when his lips were coming towards you, you wanted nothing more than to reach up and kiss his cool lips. What the heck was wrong with you!? You growled, hitting the bag one last time.

"Damn it!" You cursed, leaning forward to rest your hands on your knees. "Traded two stupid alphas for another one."

You felt your phone buzz and you looked down to see the sweet face of Ochaco and her baby. A smile graces your face as you answer it eagerly. "Hello?"

"Hey Y/N, how are you?" Her cheerful voice replies back.

"I am doing great! How's going back to hero work?"

"Oh, it's awesome! I miss the little bug though, but it's nice to fit back into my hero costume ya know?"

You couldn't help but chuckle. "At this rate, I may never know."

"Uh oh, drama with the men?" She asked and you rubbed your temples.

"The fact that its plural already says enough," you gripe, grabbing your water bottle to take a drink.

"I heard about Inferno Cannon. I didn't think Bakugo would hire someone else after you left."

"Tell me about it. It makes me want to go over there and see exactly who she is," you say spitefully.

"Maybe you can at the Hero Banquet," Ochaco replied and you pause.

Hero Banquet? You wanted to slap yourself. How could you forget about one of the biggest events held annually? Once a year, the Japanese government hosts an appreciation party where most of the prestigious pro-heroes in the country attend. In the past years, you and Bakugo would attend together while Kirishima stayed back to watch the agency.

Was he going to attend this year?

"Hey Ochaco, I have to go. Talk later?"

"Oh wait! There was a reason I called. Deku wanted to know if you and Shoto wanted to go out with us this weekend. Not as a double date or anything. But more so as old high school friends!"

You held back a frustrated sigh. "Todoroki and I aren't on the best of terms at the moment."

"Well maybe we can at least meet up and send the boys off while us girls chat," she offered and you smiled.

"Sure, that sounds good."

Once you got off the phone with her, you grabbed your belongings and headed for the locker room. As you shower off the evidence of your workout, you couldn't help but think about the men in your life.

Neither Bakugo or Kirishima had attempted to reach out to you even once. Was it because of this new girl? What if they were tired of the omega drama and decided to busy themselves with this other person?

Shaking your head, you needed to get rid of those thoughts. Leaving was about focusing on yourself, not Todoroki, and certainly not who the new hero was.

While sitting at your desk, filing more paperwork, you felt a presence standing in the doorway. You knew who it was before looking up, yet your eyes still met with those multicolored orbs.
