Chapter 61

Alycia's Pov.

"You're coming to New York tomorrow? Wait, i'm confused. Excited! But confused. Isnt Harry's show next week?" Rue asked me over the phone as I sat on the tour bus couch.

We just got to the venue for today and Harry went in a little bit ago. I told him I had to call Rue because I had missed a call. I just wanted to call her to see if I could stay at her place when I arrive.

"It's a really long story...i'm leaving tour. I'll tell you all about it when I get there. If you're busy though, I can get an Uber and a hotel. I was ju-" "No, of course you're staying with me. And i'll pick you up. JFK?" She asked and I felt a smile cross my face.

She's always there for me. I love her so much.

"Yes. JKF. I'll text you my landing time tonight. Thank you Rue." "Do not thank me. I'm your best friend for a reason. I'm very excited to see you. I don't know what's going on yet but just know that everything will be alright." "Thank you. I love you. I'll call you tonight." "Love you too Ly. Bye."

I hung up and sighed before calling Candice. I've missed her past two calls.

"Well it's about time." Candice said through the phone. "I know you're having fun with Harry but you can't ignore my calls." "I haven't been. Sorry, it's been...rough. Uhm, I was calling to tell you i'm headed to New York tonight." "For his show?" "No...no. I'm leaving. I'm gonna stay with Rue for a few days before I come back to LA."

I heard her words get caught in her throat.

"Alycia, what happened?" "It's a long story, I don't really wanna talk about it right now." "Did you two break up?" "Not yet...but we are. I overheard some things and...that's all I really feel like saying. I'm gonna leave tonight. I just wanted to tell you. I'll still be back in LA at the same time." "Honey...i'm so sorry. Please call me before you board your flight. You can call me whenever you want to talk. Do you want me to fly out to New York and meet you?"

As annoying as Candice can be sometimes, she really has taken on a maternal role with me and I appreciate it more than she knows.

"No, i'll be okay. Thank you though. Really. But i'll be with Rue so i'll be alright. I'll call you tonight okay?" "Okay. I love you honey." "Love you too. Bye."

I hung up and sighed before tossing my phone on the couch.

"Does Harry know?" I heard a voice ask and I gasped in shock as the voice completely startled me.

I turned around to see Jeff in the doorway.

Oh fuck.

"Jeff...fuck you scared me." "Sorry. I didn't mean to eavesdrop but what was that about?" "It's a long story." "Well i'd really appreciate if you explained it. Harry's gonna lose it if you leave without him knowing. Especially before a show."

I'm smarter than that Jeff.

"I'm leaving during the show. I didn't wanna ruin his show. I know better than that. Look...I overheard Harry talking to Mitch last night at the venue. He said a lot of things. He's not in this anymore and...I can't stay and pretend not to know. I've gotta go."
