After getting off of FaceTime with Zuri I made my way downstairs going into the kitchen seeing my nana Karen and mawmaw Sheila.
"What you two ladies in here doing?"
"Cooking dinner."
"Can I help?"
"Yes wash your hands."
I nodded and walked over to the sink and I washed my hands.
"You're ready to get your permit," my nana Karen asked.
"Yes ma'am I am."
"You talked to Zuri how is she?"
"She's okay mama and daddy gon let her be home for school for a little while."
"Oh okay."
"Lani."
"Yes mawmaw Sheila."
"How do you feel about your parents getting a divorce it'll be finalized in a few days?"
"Mama needs happiness and peace in her life and so far daddy hasn't been giving that to her so the divorce is necessary for the both of them daddy clearly isn't happy with being with mama so he should let her find someone who will make him happy."
They both nodded I maybe 15 but I know a lot plus I've listening to my auntie Chandra and mama conversation about what all done transpired.
A'Shanee and Khari walked into the kitchen they'll be leaving tomorrow morning for school since classes literally starts on the 22nd and they want to get settled in.
"Are you two all packed up?"
"Yes ma'am."
"Okay."
"We're going to stop by the hospital in the morning before we go to say goodbye to Zuri and mama uncle Trav is going to drive my car while I ride with Shanee."
"Your father is there as well."
"Okay."
Khari and our dad still aren't on speaking terms still.
"Are you ever going to fix things with your dad Khari?"
"No nana Karen I'm not I watched mama get abused my biological father now my adopted dad is a impulsive cheater and I had to hear and watch her cry every night that's dead."
My phone dinged I looked down seeing that I had a message I opened the message and responded.
"Nana and mawmaw my best friend Madison is here for us to finish up our project."
"Okay go ahead."
I nodded and walked out of the kitchen I walked over to the front door I unlocked the door and opened it.
"Hey Madi."
"Hey Lani."
"This is my cousin Bryce unfortunately my mama and auntie made me bring him."
"Trust me I didn't want to come," Bryce said never looking up from his phone.
"It's cool y'all come in."
I stepped aside and let them in I closed the door and Bryce finally looked up from his phone.
"Woah w-who are you?"
"Malani Madison best friend."
He nodded.
"I hope you didn't start working on the project without me."
