4 months later— March 24, 2031

The past 4 months have been nothing but blissful even though I've been recovering for the past 2 1/2 months August have been making sure that all of my needs have met and that I don't have to do anything but take care of Kenzo. We both had to convince A'Shanee and Khari that I would be fine and that they didn't have to leave school and come back home. Malani and Zuri also have been helpful too.
"Hey mama."
"Hey Lani."
"I have some of the designs ready for Kayden's spring collection."
"Okay."
"Can you come and see them?"
I looked at Malani as she bit her lip.
"Are you nervous?"
"Yes."
"Why?"
"Because I don't have Kayden here the first time we worked together but this time she's allowing me to do it own my own-," I cut Malani off.
"Breathe baby girl let's go look at your designs."
"Okay."
I followed behind Malani we walked into her room and my mouth fell at the designs.
"Lani these are amazing."
"You think so?"
"I know so and I'm not saying this just because I'm your mama baby girl you have a gift."
Malani smiled.
"Thank you mama."
"You're welcome."
"Now why is there two pink two piece sets," I asked.
"One of them is for you and it comes with this sweater I made."
"Lemme go and put this on right now."
"Okay."
I grabbed the outfit and sweater from Malani and I walked into her dressing room i changed clothes and walked out I did a little spin.
"It fits you perfectly."
"And it's very comfortable too."
"That's what I want my clothing line to be about fitting but comfortable."
I unlocked my phone and I went to my bank app and added some money into Malani's account.
"Did you just add some money into my account?"
"Yep."
Malani got her phone and went to her account.
"Mama you didn't have to pay me for the outfit I made it for you."
"I know but you deserve it baby girl continue to save your money for your business."
"I will."
"K, K, K, K BABY WHERE YOU AT," August yelled.
"Let me go see what your daddy want."
"Okay."
Malani sat her phone down and went back to sketching I walked out closing the door behind me and walked into the kitchen.
"Damn."
I smiled.
"Lemme get a picture of you."
I smiled and posed as August snapped the picture.
"This wasn't what you was wearing before I left."
"I know Lani made it for me."
"She did a good job."
"Yes she did."
"Where's Kenzo and Zuri?"
"Upstairs they should be waking up from their nap soon."
"Okay."
August walked up to me and got behind me wrapping his arms around my waist and he snuggled his face into the crook of my neck he let out a sigh.
"Are you okay baby?"
"Yeah I'm just happy and content."
I turned towards August and he looked at me with glossed over eyes.
"What's wrong?"
"Everything is right again in my life there isn't anything missing I'm grateful that you gave me another chance you didn't have to baby but you did."
I wiped the tears that fell from August eyes as he held me in his arms. I didn't say anything I just stared into his eyes then I pulled him into a hug and we kissed.
"Eww," we both turned and looked at Zuri.
"What you ewwing about you're going to see me give ya mama love and affection a lot."
Kenzo looked at me with a toothy smile. My baby boy have two teeth and two more coming in he's growing so fast. He started crawling 2 months ago and mama is currently his favorite word he say dada too but mama is said more.
Zuri
I hope that one day I can find a love like my parents, like my auntie and uncle, and like my grandparents on both sides.
"What you over there thinking about Ri?"
"Just on how the men treat the women in the family."
My daddy nodded.
"Don't let know man treat you like you're not the queen that you are and if he can't treat you right then you don't need to be with him. I understand that not every guy have money and that's okay as long as he's trying and you're happy with him then that's all that matters."
"Yessir."
The doorbell rung I walked over to the door and opened it seeing Jackson.
"Hey Jackson."
"Hey Zuri."
"What are you doing here?"
"You forgot we gotta work on our science project remember."
"Oh yeah that's right."
Jackson waved to his parents then I stepped aside and let him I closed the door behind him.
"Follow me are you thirsty," I asked as we walked into the kitchen.
"No I'm good."
"Okay."
We walked into the kitchen.
"Mama daddy this is Jackson Ellis, Jackson my parents Kierra and August Alsina."
"Nice to meet you Mr. and Mrs. Alsina."
"You too Jackson."
"Daddy did you get everything that we'll need for the rocket," I asked.
"Yep it's on the dining room table."
"Okay come on Jackson."
We walked into the dining room I grabbed my book bag and pulled out the instructions Mrs. Lewis gave us.
"If y'all need anything Ri let us know."
"Okay we will."
My mama nodded as she walked out of the dining room.
"Okay so I was thinking we build the rocket together and paint it together."
"Alright."
We got started on building the rocket once the rocket was built we painted the rocket and Jackson set up the remote control for the rocket. We then walked outside to test the remote control and the rocket. Also we have a science fair coming up and I'm not sure what me and Jackson are going to do but I do know that it's going to be unique and different no one is going to think about doing this.
