I pulled up to A'Shanee and Khari condo I got out and made my way up to the door. I rang the doorbell and waited seconds later Khari opened the door then he slammed it shut.
"Khari open this door."
"Where your clothes at?"
"I have on clothes plus I'm the parent."
Khari opened the door then stepped aside and let me in.
"Ooouu mama you look amazing like always."
"Thank you Shanee."
"You must got a lil date here."
"I don't actually I came to see have y'all seen y'all daddy."
"Yeah he left hours ago."
"Did he say where he was going?"
"Anguilla he'll be there for a few weeks then he's coming back to the states."
I nodded and I pulled out my phone and booked myself a red eye flight.
"Ky go get my bags out of the Uber."
Khari nodded and walked out of the front door me and A'Shanee walked into the living room and sat down.
"So what's going on mama?"
"I need to talk with your daddy."
"About what are you okay?"
"Yeah I'm fine."
"No you're not did something happen to you."
"What happened to you mama?"
"I'm fine Ky."
"Ky mama is lying."
"I can't tell you two."
"Ma we're not kids anymore we're grown you can tell us."
I wiped my eyes and shook my head.
"Mama look at me."
I looked at A'Shanee.
"Oh hell no."
A'Shanee picked up her phone.
"Shanee let me tell August myself I booked a red eye flight."
"What's going on?"
"Mama was raped."
"How you know that mama didn't say that?"
"Because I read mama when she looked me in my eyes it's something us girls automatically know how to do with each other."
"When did this happen?"
"It was after the second date."
"With ole dude with all of the kids?"
I nodded and sighed.
"I never saw the signs of him being like that."
"Did you go to the hospital?"
"I had Cha and Mel to take me so there's a full report."
"Okay."
"When was your second date?"
"About 3 days ago and it happened then."
"Do you feel comfortable with telling us how it happened or you want to wait."
"I want to wait I want to tell y'all dad first and then start my therapy sessions."
"Okay."
