A few days later

It's been a few days since the accident and I'm still suffering from some short term memory lost. I knocked on Khari door and opened it.
"Hey mama."
"Hey baby."
"How's your memory?"
"I'm at about 95% so soon my memory will be fully back."
"That's good."
"I want to apologize to you mama."
"For?"
"How the way I reacted at the hospital with dad it's just that I saw what you went through with my biological father and the fact that I couldn't help you gets to me I know dad never put his hands on you but he made you cry and I hate seeing you cry it hurts me to know that you're hurting."
"Wait you saw what me and your dad was going through?"
"Yeah I saw it I cried several nights for you had nightmares and all I prayed hoping that we'll get out of that situation and eventually we did."
"Why you didn't tell me Ky I could've let you seen a therapist."
"I didn't want to be a burden to you mama you was already going through so much."
I touched Khari's face.
"You'll never be a burden to me Ky you're my first born I love you."
"I love you too mama."
We hugged.
"You're going to have to make things right with August."
"I know I am. Are you two ever going to get back together?"
"Who knows it might happen it might not happen?"
Khari nodded.
"Mama come downstairs daddy have a surprise for you," Zuri said as she walked in.
"Okay."
I looked at Khari.
"I'm coming too."
We both stood up and walked out of his room behind Zuri we made it to the living room and I sat down.
"Before you get started I just want to say that I'm sorry pop for everything it's just that you hurt mama and I've seen her get abused by my real dad I saw and heard her cry and then you made her cry and I just flashed back to that little boy seeing his mama cry and I lashed out.
"All is forgiven I love you son."
"I love you too pop."
Khari sat down and August pressed play on the laptop.
"What's going on?"
"You'll see."
"Is this the homemade videos we made?"
"It is as well as pictures too."
I nodded.
In the middle of the video my head started to hurt.
"Ow."
"You okay."
"Yeah I just have a headache."
"You need your medicine?"
"Yeah."
August walked over to me with my pills and a bottle of water I thanked him and took the pills and drunk some water.
"You sure you're okay?"
"Yeah."
I winced again.
"You're not okay Ky help me get your mama up to bed."
"I'm fine."
"No you're not the doctor said for you to take it easy and knowing you you haven't."
I smacked my teeth August and Khari helped me up off the sofa.

Once Kierra was settled in the bed Khari walked out to go to the bathroom.
"Mail is here," A'Shanee spoke.
She handed me the mail then she walked out. I went through my them and seen that we had mail from the lawyers. I opened it and pulled out the papers.
"What's that?"
"Our divorce papers it's officially we're no longer married and you're no longer tied to me."
Kierra didn't say anything.
"I'll get my things and leave."
I was about to walk away but Kierra grabbed my hand I looked down at her.
"Your eyes are red."
"I know."
"You're about to cry?"
"Trying not to."
"Why I thought this is what you wanted?"
"It's not what I wanted I know I fucked up but it's what you wanted so I obliged."
"So letting me go is-," I cut Kierra off.
"No it's not but you looked me in my eyes and told me that you didn't love me anymore once you said that I knew that it was true and that I've lost you for good," I wiped away the few tears that fell.
"I have to go see my therapist I'll be back later."
Kierra nodded and I walked out of the room and made my way downstairs.
"You're leaving daddy."
"I'll be back."
"You've been crying pop."
"Yeah," I sighed.
"It's official," they all asked.
"Yeah."
They all nodded and sighed I shook my head and walked out of the house. I fucked up big time.
About an hour later I'm sitting in my therapist office.
"How you're doing August since the last time we talked?"
"Not good Dr. Barnes."
"Why?"
"The divorce papers came in the mail today it's official I've lost my wife."
"You haven't lost her she's still the mother of your kids."
"That's not what I want her to be."
"I want her to be my wife, my soulmate, my lover and my best friend again."
"When was the last time you slept with another woman?"
"Back in July when I was with you know who?"
"And you haven't been with anybody since then?"
"Nope."
"I see you're still wearing your band?"
"Yeah I haven't brought it to myself to take it off yet."
"Why?"
"I'm not ready to let her go."
"But you have to August."
"I know Dr. Barnes."
"Also you're going to have to let her date."
"I know."
"Are you ready for that?"
"No I'm not but I have no choice."
We continued on with my session then we said our goodbyes I paid at the front desk then I made my way out of the building and over to my car. Once inside of my car I looked at my wedding band and removed it. I let out a sigh my wife is no longer my wife she's not Kierra Alsina she's Kierra Shears what the fuck did I do and why did I do what I did. All I want is my family back that's all nothing else matters anymore but them they should've remained my main priority but I let them slip away.
