Thanksgiving Day— November 27, 2031

Khari
I was trying to get Nyasha let me take a picture of her but she wasn't feeling it.

"Ky my makeup isn't done."

"You don't need any makeup."

"I know but I love to wear makeup please let me get finished then I will let you take as many pictures of me that you want."

"How long is it going to take?"

"30 minutes I'm almost done baking."

I sighed and fell back on the bed and scrolled on social media as I waited on her to get finished.

I felt tapping on my shoulder I opened my eyes and saw Nyasha.

"I'm done."

"Damn I fell asleep."

She nodded.

"You did."

I shook my head I stood up and went in the bathroom I washed my face and came back out of the room. I stretched and yawned I picked up my phone Nyasha posed and I snapped a picture of her.

"Can I see?"

"Can I see?"

I nodded and showed Nyasha the picture she nodded then she did two more poses then we made our way downstairs.

"Happy Thanksgiving everyone," we both spoke.

They all responded back I looked around seeing everyone was marching with their significant other even my parents was marching and Kenzo was matching with them.

We all sat down at the table where the food was my grandpa prayed over the food and we passing the food around and began eating.

"Nyasha what are you majoring in?"

"I'm majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Afro Studies," she spoke.

"That's good."

"Yes it is," my nana spoke.

"What are you majoring in Prince," my grandpa asked.

"I'm majoring in Psychology and minoring in Afro Studies well."

"We're all minoring in Afro Studies," A'Shanee spoke up.

"What are you majoring in Khari."

"Criminal Justice."

"I'm majoring in Psychology too."

"Wait a minute," my pop spoke.

"What?"

"Why are y'all majors the same I know that my two had already had theirs set since they were kids what about you two?"

"Well Mr. August there isn't enough black representation in the field of criminal justice as far as lawyers goes plus I don't want to be just any lawyer I want to be district attorney," Nyasha spoke.

"And what about you Prince?"

"My reasoning is the same not enough black representation in the medical field and psychologists fall in that category as well just depends on what you want your career to be on."

My pop nodded.

"So what are y'all plans after college?"

"We're going to open up our own firms."

"Together or separately?"

Nyasha was about to respond but I cut her off.

"Together."

She looked at me.

"I'm not leaving you we're in this together forever."

"But what if-," I cut her off.

"There's no what if's you're who I want to be with not no other woman I know that we're young and that people may think that we should see other people to see what's out there but I don't want to I'm happy right where I'm at."

"That's good to know."

"We're on the same page," I asked.

"Definitely."

I smiled and continued eating.

"What about you Prince what's your plans with my daughter?"

"Date her for a while, make her my fiancé then my wife and lastly the mother of my kids."

"In that order?"

"If things work out that way then yes sir but if not she's still going to end up being my wife."

"Ky you didn't say anything about marrying my NyNy," my nana spoke.

I swallowed my food.

"Of course I'm going to marry Nyasha and she's going to be the mother of my kids."

Me and Nyasha had already had our talk about where our relationship is going and what we want from each other long term wise I know she has a little doubt there which is why she was about to say a what if but I'm going to make sure that she don't have to have any doubts because I'm not going anywhere.

Kierra
We all finished eating and mama Sheila put the dishes in the dishwasher Zuri and Malani took Kenzo for a walk and Kameron went upstairs to take a nap leaving us adults alone in the house to finish talking.

"Listen y'all marriage isn't any easy thing and the both of you have to be committed to each other and love each other, talk everything out don't leave nothing unsaid."

"And that's where I messed up and our marriage ended Khari I always tell you to be a better man than I was."

"And A'Shanee be a better woman than I was if a something don't feel right in your relationship don't just stick around and see if things is going to change if you want to leave leave and it's vice versa," I spoke.

"Me and ya mama both learned from our experiences and everyday I wake up with regret without having Kierra as my wife."

"Then propose to her son what are you waiting on," grandpa spoke.

"It's not the right time pop it's going to happen soon."

He mumbled under his breath and mama Sheila nudged him.

"What Sheila the boy is acting like he's afraid to propose to K," he spoke.

"It's not that baby Aug just want to make sure that everything is perfect and the timing is right."

Grandpa mumbled once again and I laughed whenever August is ready my answer will be yes.

"K honey are you okay," mama Sheila asked.

"Yeah why you asked."

"Because you spaced out on us baby."

"Oh."

August was now looking at me.

"You're not pregnant are you," he asked.

"No my period literally just went off last week."

"K are you sure you're okay you don't look like it."

I waved mama Sheila off I stood up and got lightheaded August caught me.

"Ma call 911," I heard August call.

"Stay with me K baby," I heard him speak again.

Everything around me  went black.....................
