I drove the golf cart down to my grandparents mail box and I got the mail I saw a tall guy looking at me.
"Sorry to stare but you're beautiful."
I smiled.
"Thank you."
"You from around here?"
"No I'm from Atlanta you," I asked.
"Nah Dallas."
I nodded and he came closer.
"I'm Nate Watson what's your name," he spoke as he held out his hand.
"Zuri Alsina," I spoke as I shook his hand.
"Wait the mayor stay up there in that mansion are you related to the mayor."
"He's my grandpa."
"Oh that's dope my uncle works for him."
I nodded.
"Well let me take the mail inside nice meeting you Nate."
"You too Zuri hope to see you again."
"We'll see."
I made my way back up the driveway seeing my daddy standing at the door I rolled my eyes and laughed knowing he was watching me.
"Who that boy you was talking to?"
"His name is Nate."
"Hmm what he want?"
"He was just introducing himself to me daddy that's all."
"Oh okay."
"Daddy you do realize that I'll be dating soon."
I got out of the golf cart grabbing the mail.
"I'm well aware and I'm not ready for you or Lani to date y'all are growing up."
"Yes we are."
"You wanna ride with me."
"Yeah let me take the mail inside."
My daddy nodded I went inside and handed my grandpa the mail and he handed me a wad of cash.
"What's this for?"
"No reason just because enjoy."
"Thank you grandpa."
I hugged and kissed his cheek I placed the money in my purse and got it off the coffee table I walked outside and over to my daddy truck and got in the passenger seat.
"So where are we going?"
"Ring shopping."
"You proposing to mama on Thanksgiving?"
"No but I want to go ahead and have some rings picked out."
"Rings as in multiple?"
"Yeah Ima have a few different rings and let your mama pick out the one she like the most."
"You're going all out this time huh?"
"I am."
"Daddy I got a question."
"What's up princess?"
"Do you regret cheating?"
"Every single day I ruined your mama trust, confidence and so much more if I can turn back the hands of time I wouldn't have done it."
I nodded.
"Are you okay I know we haven't spoken on what happened since it happened?"
"I'm better now therapy helps out a lot thank you for sending me."
"Of course I knew that you was going to need it to heal properly and move on from it."
Davon ended up pleading guilty so we didn't have to go to court and Kinslee stopped talking to me she never gave me a reason why but I don't care.
"How's Kinslee doing?"
"I'm not sure she just up and stopped talking to me but I don't care."
"Really do you think that it has something to do with her brother going to jail?"
"I think so but I don't care because he deserves to be behind bars."
"What he deserve is to be dead but Ima let the prisoners do that."
I nodded in agreement I pulled out my phone going to Instagram I saw that I had a new follower and new likes I went seeing that Nate started following me and liking some of my pictures.
A'Shanee
I made my way back towards my grandparents house from walking Zeus when a boy stopped me.
"Hey miss."
"Yes."
"Sorry to stop you but I'm Nate Wilson."
"Nice to meet you Nate I'm A'Shanee Alsina."
"Are you and Zuri related," he asked.
"Yeah she's my little sister why."
"She's pretty and I want to get to know her more and I don't know how to approach her I would've asked one of the guys I seen walking out of the house but they all are intimidating."
I laughed.
"They can be at times but sure I can help you."
"Thank you."
"When you ask her out bring roses pink roses to be exact that's her favorite color."
"Okay and chocolate she loves chocolate."
"Alright also speak clearly and normal when you talk to her not mumble anything."
"I got it thanks A'Shanee."
"You're welcome Nate."
I walked back towards the house and once we got to the door I took Zeus leash off and opened the door and he ran inside I walked inside and closed the door behind me. Khari walked up to me.
"Guess what grandpa did?"
"What?"
"He invited Prince here along with Nyasha."
"Really?"
"Yep and get this Nyasha and her family will be back in town late tonight."
"I know you're happy."
"I am."
"And I'm happy for you too."
"What's wrong why you sound down?"
"Daddy probably ruined whatever chance I had with Prince so him coming here is useless."
"It's really not Shanee."
"It is Ky and it's okay."
I made my way upstairs to my room that I have here. Yes my daddy apologized to me but that don't mean anything when whatever me and Prince had going on is nonexistent. He's the first guy that I truly liked and saw something with and here fo my daddy being overprotective and ruined it for me I know he don't mean no harm and he's looking out for me but we been knowing Prince since he was a kid and he's really a great guy. I walked in my room and sat on my bed I put my AirPods in and went to Disney+ to watch the Proud Family new season. Oh yeah my daddy and Oscar Proud have a lot in common with being overprotective of their daughters. I hate for Zuri and Malani to have to go through what I'm going through.
I laughed as Oscar got hit by Sugamama my door opened I looked up seeing my mama with Kenzo I paused the showed took out my AirPods and reached out my hands to get my baby brother. He's such a happy baby even though he was born prematurely I kissed his cheek as I put my AirPods back in its case and put on Mickey Mouse clubhouse for him. My mama smiled and closed the door.
