Getting the good news that Kenzo will possibly be coming home next month I have to get his nursery together as well as get a bassinet for my room for him to sleep in. So I already ordered everything that I want for his nursery. The kids are out with Melvin and Chandra for the day since all of their girls are grown they decided to take their nieces and nephews to the park I ended up going to the hospital to see Kenzo and August was there I was surprised to see him there being as he hasn't came since I've told him.
The doorbell rung I paused my movie and walked over to the door I unlocked the door and opened it thinking it was my mama.
"Hey."
"The kids aren't here."
"I didn't come to see the kids I came to talk to you."
"Talk to me talk to me about what?"
"Can I come inside?"
I rolled my eyes and stepped aside letting him in we walked into the living room and sat down.
"I'm sorry K."
"I heard that before."
"I am though I hurt you multiple times and I destroyed I family it's my fault that you went into preterm labor from stressing about me when your pregnancy was high risk as is I just added onto to it.
I remained silent.
"So whats going to happen after we divorce?"
"We coparent you step up and be a father to your kids."
"Are we going to get back together?"
"No move on August go be with the woman who you cheated on me with."
"I don't want to be with her I want to be with you."
"Now you want your family back," I spoke.
"Yes."
I stood up and shook my head.
"Get out."
"K-," I cut him off.
"Get out."
"I love you K."
"No you love the thought of me I don't know when and I don't know why but you fell out of love with me."
"That's not true."
"It is true and you know it I finally give you a chance almost 8 years ago and you fucked me over just go."
"Kierra."
I stopped August from talking.
"No I gotta live for me and my kids and not you I've dedicated my life to you had your kids and was still loving on you when you out doing god knows what on me. Thankfully I didn't get an std but you can go to hell respectfully."
August opened the door he walked out then turned around and looked at me.
"Ima get my family back."
"Have fun trying."
I shut the door in his face then I locked it. I don't see myself getting back with August how can I ever get back with somebody who done cheated on me with multiple women publicly. A lot of entertainment personalities from the radio to tv have been reaching out to me to do interviews but right now I'm not ready to do an interview I have to get myself right first.
Zuri
I'm just as confused as ever because every since I could remember my dad always told me to not be with a guy who done cheated on me multiple times when I get older but he does the exact same thing he's been telling me to avoid to my mama that don't make any sense at all.
I drove the golf cart back up the driveway from getting the mail. I walked inside of the house and closed the door I walked into the living room Khari and A'Shanee looked up at me they'll both be 18 soon.
"Is that the mail?"
"Yes."
I handed them both their mails which are their acceptance letters. They have a few acceptance letters from PCU universities and HBC universities but none from their top college choices.
"Okay Shanee you first."
A'Shanee nodded and opened her first letter we all watched intently.
"I got accepted into Howard."
She sat the letter down then she opened the other three.
"As well as Spelman, Tuskegee University and," she trailed off as she read the last acceptance letter.
"And XAVIER UNIVERISTY," she screamed.
We all screamed and jumped up and down Xavier University is A'Shanee dream college and she got accepted.
"Xaiver University," my mama asked.
"Yes ma'am I'm officially an Xavierite."
"Fall semester starts soon."
"I know I know I'm about to call the admissions office now and go ahead and get my classes set up I'm so excited."
"We all are congrats big sis."
"Thank you Zuri you'll be next."
"I know and I gotta start applying soon."
"Right."
A'Shanee went upstairs and we all looked at Khari as he opened each letter.
"Howard, Morehouse, Spelman, Hampton, Xavier and Tuskegee."
"There's no excitement."
"I'm excited mama I'm just," he sighed.
"Khari I'm fine baby you've been talking about college since you was a kid don't let what me and your father got going on stop you from going to college you're going to college."
"PERIOD KHARI YOU BETTER GET ON THE PHONE WITH XAIVER UNIVERSITY ADMISSIONS AND GET ENROLLED AND STOP PLAYING," A'Shanee yelled.
"How you yelling and you're on the phone," I asked.
"I'm on hold."
Khari shook his head and went upstairs to his room to make the call.
"So Zuri have you thought about your college choices?"
"I have two in mind actually."
"Which are?"
"Hampton University and Dillard University."
"Okay those are good college choices."
"They are I really want to go to Dillard though I was on their website earlier and I love everything that I read."
"You're a straight A student with a great head on your shoulder and you're involved in a lot of the extra curricular activities at the school Zuri you'll get in."
"I hope so mama."
"You will keep the faith."
"I will."
"You wanna help me cook."
"Yes can we have Birria Tacos?"
"Yeah I never made them so we gotta go get the ingredients."
"Okay."
"I'm coming," Malani spoke as she came downstairs.
"Where you been?"
"Sleep I just woke up."
"Oh okay."
"Go where," Khari and A'Shanee asked at the same time.
"To the store."
"Oh yeah we going too."
"Alright let's go."
Me and my mama stood up she grabbed her keys and her purse we all walked out of the living room and made our way down the hall heading to the garage.
