Back in the U.S.
Zuri
I walked into the house with Kayden right behind me we walked into the kitchen where my grandmas and auntie Chandra was they all looked at us when we walked in.
"Well how did it go?"
"MawMaw Sheila Zuri is a natural the photographer loved her."
"That's good."
"She will definitely be in my next photoshoot for the winter collection."
"Lemme see some pictures."
"You can't see any pictures yet mama until the fall collection comes out but you can see her headshots that she took."
I handed them my portfolio my grandma Karen opened it and they looked through it.
"These are amazing Ri."
"Thank you auntie Cha hopefully Maiya will think so too."
"Maiya here?"
"No ma'am but she will be this weekend."
"Well I have no doubt that Maiya will love them and definitely sign you to her agency."
"How do you think my parents will react to me wanting to model," I asked as I bit my lip.
"They will be happy for you but school is first which means you will have to graduate highschool first."
I nodded. We heard the front door open and close then seconds later my cousin Amaiya walked in.
"Hey family."
"Hey Maiya," since I was closer we hugged.
Amaiya then went around and hugged everyone.
"So what's going on?"
"We're just looking over Zuri headshots she did them at KayKay's photoshoot.
"Oh cool lemme see."
Amaiya walked over to the island counter where everyone was and she joined them and in looking at my headshots.
"These are amazing Ri."
"Thank you Maiya."
"Now you know that I would love to go ahead and sign you to my agency but I know auntie K and uncle Aug are not going to play about you finishing highschool and getting your education now I will send you on local photoshoots that will not interfere with you going to school and your homework and you will have a few local photoshoots too before I even start making these calls and getting everything set up lemme go ahead and call auntie K and uncle Aug seperately and see what they say about ypu signing on and letting you do some local gigs so that way you can have your own money."
"Babygirl your auntie and uncle are together in Anguilla."
"They're finally getting back together?"
We all shrugged their shoulders.
"No one knows Miaya but we all hope that they are going to get back together."
"Yes because they're soulmates but let me go and make this call I'll be right back.
We all nodded and I sent up a quick prayer hoping that my parents will say yes because I really want to be a model and Amaiya's modeling agency is the number 1 agency in Georgia and everyone wants to sign with her.
Malani
I had just finished up with some designs and I made my way downstairs with my notebook hoping that Kayden and Zuri were back so I can show her my designs and get some fashion advice from her. I walked into to the kitchen seeing them.
"Hey Lani."
"Hey Ri."
"KayKay I want to show you some designs that I sketched."
"Okay lemme see."
I handed Kayden my sketchbook and she opened it.
"Damn Lani you're talented sorry."
Kayden quickly apologized to our grandmas and auntie Chandra.
"Thank you."
"I got to have these with my fall collection."
"Wait are you serious?"
"Of course I am go get ready so we can go to my warehouse and get these designs made so I can set up another photoshoot also be thinking of a name for your clothing line."
"What?"
"You heard me Lani I'm not taking credit of your designs you and I always talked about you starting your own clothing line with me so let's make it happen of course it's not going to interfere with your school or your homework but I know how auntie K and uncle Aug work so lemme go join in with Maiya so they won't be left in the dark about you."
"Okay."
"You two are just like your uncle and dad," Auntie Chandra spoke.
"How?"
"By going into business together which is good this is what we wanted for yall to do anyways and as long as its not interfering with yall going to school and yall homework I know that your parents will say yes."
"Fingers crossed that they do," Zuri spoke and I nodded in agreement.
I have the perfect name for my line and I will not be telling anyone until Kayden release the fall collection. Kayden and Amaiya walked back into the kitchen me and Zuri looked at them waiting on an answer.
"Okay so after going back and forth with both auntie K and uncle Aug they agreed to both let you guys start yall career but stay focused with school the moment yall grades slip thats the moment everything gets halted until yall graduate," Amaiya spoke.
"Sounds good to us," me and Zuri spoke.
"Zuri follow me to auntie K office so I can print your contract and get it signed and email it right to me."
"Okay."
Zuri and Amaiya walked out of the kitchen.
"Alright Lani I hope you have came up with a name because its time to go to the warehouse and get your line started."
"I have I'll be right back."
I made my way upstairs to my room I grabbed my phone and pursed then made my way over to my closet I grabbed my shoes and put them on I then walked out and grabbed my shades off of my dresser and made my way back downstairs.
"Alrigbt I'm ready."
"Be back by dinner and KayKay when I call your phone about dinner being ready you better answer or I'll come down there to youer warehouse."
"Yes ma'am."
We walked out of the kitchen and through the foyer and outside going over to Kayden's car I have my permit but I'm not touching either of my parents' car because they are not about to kill me about their cars I have a choice of getting my car for my 16th birthday or waiting unitl I graduate highschool. I'm leaning more towards waiting until I graudate highschool and just drive one of my parents' cars.
