The Doctor and Grace were in ambulance on their way to Institute of Technological Advancement and Research. The Doctor felt extremely worried that he may be too late.
"What time is now?" The Doctor asked impatiently.
"Half past ten." Grace informed him. "Don't worry, I'm on the Board of Trustees at the Institute. They'll listen to me." She reassured him.
"Won't this go any faster? Come on. Come on, come on, come on." The Doctor said, annoyed by the situation at hand.
"Can't you give him a sedative?" Grace whispered to the man that was sitting with them at the back of the ambulance. Before he could reply, however, the Doctor started talking.
"Grace, why didn't you say you had access to a beryllium clock?" He asked.
"I was more concerned about the Eye of Destruction." Grace said.
"Harmony!" The Doctor corrected her.
"Yes, yes. And the fact that the planet will be sucked through it at midnight." Grace said with a sarcastic tone, "I mean, face it. It's not often one has a Time Lord in one's living room, Doctor." She laughed. Then she turned to the man. "He likes me to call him Doctor." She informs him.
"Well." The man shrugged off.
"You know, Freud had name for that." Grace said, putting a finger to her chain, thinking.
"Transference." The man told her.
"Yes, very witty, Grace. At least Freud would taken me seriously." The Doctor rolled his eyes.
"He'd have hung up his pipe if he'd met you." Grace shot back.
"We did meet." The Doctor told her.
"Oh, that's right. He's a Time Lord." Grace told sarcastically.
"We got on very well." The Doctor informed.
"Did you know Madame Curie, too?" Grace questioned.
"My friend and I had a very close relationship with her." The Doctor told her, thinking about Celestia. She was extremely jealous of her because she kept making advances towards him. He didn't even notice that in the first place. After examining her behaviour when they were back at the Tardis, he understood what the problem was. He smiled fondly at the memory.
"Who is your friend?" Grace frowned.
"Doesn't matter." The Doctor dismissed her question.
Suddenly, the ambulance screeched to a halt. The man's dark glasses fell off and the Doctor saw his green snake eyes before he could put them back on. He recognized the man as The Master just when Grace started to speak:
"A truck's blocking all the lanes." She said as she looked out of the window. She didn't really see what the Doctor saw.
"This planet is going to be destroyed and I'm stuck in a traffic jam. Excuse me." The Doctor said. Then, he took the Master's dark glasses. Grace sat down and saw the alien eyes, then the Master spat some gunk at her. She shielded her face with her arms. It burned them.
