Eve Romano used to have a life in Italy. She had a nice apartment, a great boyfriend, a nice job and was truly happy there. That was until everything started to crumble before her which forced her to move back home to Scotland with only the memories...
See you in the western sky On the best of nights Out in the dark You always seem to come my way Come and take your shape Out in the stars I really want to know your name See your face Know who you are Who you are
How did you find me? How did you find me? What are you looking for? What are you looking for? How did you find me? How did you find me? I see your shadow knocking at my door
Waiting on the smoke to rise From behind your eyes Take me away Follow me into the wild With a twisted smile I can't escape And now I got you by my side All my life Day after day.
Damiano's hand was pressed against my waist as he guides me through the crowds of people in the bar while one of the waiters walks us upstairs to the rooftop seating area above. When we climb the stairs we notice Victoria and Reina in the half booth at the back, looking very cozy. I hope Damiano and I weren't intruding on anything. Their heads glance up when they hear the sound of our pointy shoes tapping against the wooden floor, they both stand up happily and greet us with hugs and kisses on the cheek.
"Scusa se siamo in ritardo, il traffico in città era pazzesco" Damiano apologizes, pulling out my seat for me which I lower myself onto letting him push it back in. (Sorry we're late, traffic in the town was crazy) I smile up at him as a thank you, watching him take a seat down next to me.
"Abbiamo ordinato per voi ragazzi, spero che abbiamo comprato le bevande giuste." Reina worries, she was such an anxious person that the slightest thing would set her off. That's why I have always been very protective of her. (We ordered for you guys, I hope we bought the right drinks.)
"Piccola l'abbiamo fatto, è un vino rosso per Damiano e una doppia limonata alla vodka per Eva." Victoria chuckles, pulling Reina closer to her. (Baby we did, it's a red wine for Damiano and a double vodka lemonade for Eve.)
"Ah perfetto"

And.... finally. Everyone had left. I think having a nineteen year old and an eighteen year old to do Christmas lunch and dinner was probably a bit of a bad idea, I mean... I have never felt any stress like it. Never mind an exam, being stuck in the kitchen and then trying to entertain your guests at the same time was too hard to maintain. When we finally did sit down to our meals, we all had lovely chats and laughed away but of course... it ended in a pile of questions about marriage and kids. I mean with Damiano and I.... getting those questions was a constant thing. I understand why they are all curious seeing as in their day it was normal to get married earlier and have children earlier but I think what threw them off was that Damiano and I have been together three years and not a single step forward in our relationship.
Honestly? After the Christmas Night we've just had, I can't imagine upping it and changing our relationship in any other way.
I walk back into the sitting room to see Damiano was sitting on the balcony, having a cigarette with soft Italian music playing on the radio. He had changed his outfit twice already from spilling food all the way down himself clumsily.
