We get home and by time we unpacked everything it's 9pm.
"Do it tonight?" I ask Cameron and he shakes his head.
"Avery come here babe," I call her and then grab her by the hand pulling her into the basement and then sitting her on the couch.
"What?" She asks, in her six year old voice. So cute.
"Mommy wants to talk to you about something."
"OK," she says.
"So you know how daddy and I had Max and Nathan," I began.
"Me too!" She interrupts me.
"Well Avery actually Cameron is your step daddy," I look at her looking for a reaction.
"Step daddy?"
"When Cameron and mommy got married he became your step daddy but your real daddy passed away when you really small," I smile and she's confused.
"My real daddy's dead?" I was amazed that she actually knew what "passed away" meant.
"Yes hun, but Cameron loves you just as much as I do," I say.
"I call him step daddy," she asks.
"No," I pause after. "Still call him daddy."
After that it was all normal, she now knows the true about her mom and her dad.
