Chapter 3: Know where you stand when it counts!

The first matchup consisted of Kaminari, Kirishima, Asui and Koda against Tsuburaba, Shiozaki, Shishida and Rin. Shinso was on the Class A team for the first round, and would join Class B for the 5th match.

You watched as both teams got ready, using their five minutes to strategise before they began combat in the next 20 minutes.

While the A team had more people, they were also at a slight disadvantage due to having Shinso as a handicap. He had a useful quirk, yes, but had zero hero course experience that you'd all gained over the past year.

"Shirakumo-chan, who do you think will win?" Midoriya asked excitedly, taking his notebook out.

"It'll be pretty balanced I'm guessing," you began, thinking your commentary out. "Both teams have good strategisers. We've got Asui and they have Shiozaki. Their strength isn't too bad either, it's all balanced so far. It's more a matter of who'll get outsmarted first."

As you finished your speech, you were instantly met with a whack to the back of your head.

"Have some faith," Mina scolded. "They're our class, they'll do their best."

"I know they will," you grumbled, rubbing the back of your head. "If they didn't, I'd kick their ass."

The first match finally started off with Tsu instantly using her newly adapted camouflage and going invisimode in a poorly thought out attempt to jump scare the other team.

Unfortunately, Shiozaki was already feeling her surroundings around with vines, ready to capture anyone bold or stupid enough to waltz into the trap.

Shishida, not wanting his teammates to do all the work, ran in as well, quirk raging and captured both Kirishima and Tsu.

Soon after, Tsuburaba solidified the air around Koda and imprisoned him in a soundproof cube as the latter tried to break out.

Class A was getting desperate. They only had Kaminari and Shinso, and neither of them had great combat skill.

Your classmates were watching anxiously, some even gripping onto each other as the thrill became overwhelming. The other class however, was completely relaxed, some even smiling and grinning as if it were the best day of their lives.

"Bet you this week's lunch they'll think something up," you challenged Mina, who gladly took you up on the deal.

And you were right.

Shinso used the gas mask like equipment to lure Shishida into his brainwash, surprising all of you.

"Is that a voice changer?" You asked Aizawa, looking up at the man who was critically marking his protege.

The teacher nodded as you noted down a few remarks on his equipment, immediately getting ideas you could discuss with Hatsume.

Unfortunately, things didn't go as planned. Shinso attempted to grab Shishida only to be trapped by Tsuburaba, who also managed to break the brainwashing from his teammate.

The biggest weakness to your class was back in the fight.

Kaminari attempted to electrocute the boy, but the amount of hair he had provided a good insulation, making the blonde's electricity extremely weak.

Thankfully, Tsuburaba was eliminated by Tsu immediately after.

But unfortunately, in an amazing display of teamwork, both Shishida and Shiozaki managed to capture Kirishima and Koda and put them in jail.

The only ones left on the field were Tsu, Kaminari, Shinso, Shishida, Shiozaki and Rin. Things weren't looking great.

Both teams immediately retreated after the casualties and began regrouping to strategize. They knew each other's quirks, which meant they could figure out how to overcome them.

Once the plans were done, Tsu seemingly multiplied as three of her were seen on the screen.

"Did I accidentally pour a shot into my tea this morning? I swear there are three Tsu's," you rubbed your eyes.

"If you did I'll kick your ass," Aizawa mumbled from behind you. "That was my vodka."

The entire class was confused as they saw what was happening. Until Midoriya and Mineta put it together.

"Poisonous Mucus!" Both yelled, excited to see it in action as they explained the events of the USJ.

The team desperately tried to track down Shishida, but Kaminari was instantly captured by Shiozaki.

"Denki what the fuck," you stated bluntly, knowing he couldn't hear you.

3 down, 2 to go. Class A was losing.

Until Shiozaki got brainwashed.

After that, her two remaining teammates desperately attempted to release her from the quirk's iron grip using various tactics. However, Tsu, hopefully the real one, picked her up and ran off.

Afterwards, a lot of chaos ensued as Class B attempted to track down Tsu...

... and failed miserably.

Both Shishida and Rin were knocked unconscious in a collision and carried to jail, along with Shiozaki.

It was Class A's victory.

"You knew they'd win, didn't you?" Midoriya asked, eyes sparkling.

"No, actually," you smiled. "I genuinely thought they'd lose. But I knew that they'd try something no matter what. We're U.A's hero course, we go beyond you know?"

Aizawa asked what the 4 students learnt in the new experience.

Kirishima realised how his quirk was best suited for situations were combat was necessary, and Koda acknowledged the importance of clear instructions to all animals.

Tsu accepted that not everyone will make it out, but it's a heroes job to try.

Kaminari however, well he merely congratulated himself and the team on the win.

Shinso probably took it the hardest as he explained how he couldn't apply all his hero knowledge and help out.

"It took me years to master the capture weapon," Eraserhead began drearily. "You're not going to get it just like that, and even if you did, you won't use all your tactics in every battle. Don't be so hard on yourself."

The man then walked off, announcing the start of the second battle. By now, everyone had understood how the small matches worked and began plotting already, whilst they watched the main match on the big screen.

Team 2 consisted of Yaoyorozu, Tokoyami, Aoyama and Hagakure vs. Kendo, Kuroiro, Fukidashi and Komori.

Their thought out plan almost seemed like it could lead to a victory. Until they were defeated by Komori Kinoko.

The third match was nothing out of the ordinary but was the first to end in a draw.

The next match however, would be interesting.

Team 4 consisted of Bakugo, Jirou, Sato and Sero vs. Awase, Kamakiri, Bondo and Tokage.

Tokage was a recommendation student who passed with ease and had extremely high ambition, but Bakugo would be sure to want to defeat that and want a win without casualties.

"Team 4, you may enter now. Your match begins in 3, 2, 1!" Vlad announced.

Shame you didn't have popcorn because, boy, this was going to be a shitshow.
