You were conflicted to say the least.
It was a terrifying feeling, knowing you could accept people to work under you, but you could continue to work under others as well.
You chose the latter.
While it made you feel pathetic, you knew you had a lot to learn. You weren't a big hero, barely in the thousands if you were lucky. However, you were extremely well known as a sidekick.
Your knowledge as a sidekick exceeded that of even Bubble Girl, purely due to the field work you did at night without ever having an agency to record the information.
However, your knowledge as a hero was that of a student. You needed to learn how to run an agency and you needed to learn fast.
You weren't sure why exactly Hawks was sent in as a spy into the league, but you were well aware that if the Public Safety Commission was willing to sacrifice the number 2 hero, something big was going to happen.
You sighed, revisiting the hundreds of papers of requests you'd received.
"4,500 right?" A familiar voice asked you, nervous yet still smiling.
You pursed your lips, nodding at Kaminari's question. The memory of last night's conversation with Bakugo was still burned fresh into your mind, though there was a tiny part that simply refused to believe it.
"Who're you going with this time?" He asked again, hoping to get an answer from you.
"Stop," you responded, cold and shaky. You wanted to talk to the boy, he'd been your friend since so long, but you needed space. He couldn't stop talking to you and then try to brush it under a carpet in the hopes of restarting.
That wasn't how the real world worked. Everything a person did affected someone else in some way, no matter how big or how small. In larger cases like this, it could sever friendships and potentially drive the person into a terrible state.
You'd be lying if you weren't in one yourself until Bakugo and Midoriya snapped you out of it.
"Alright, filter through your requests again and make your calls," Aizawa sighed, walking back to the front. "You're dismissed for now."
With that, everyone took their bags and papers and shuffled out of the classroom, eager to look through the papers thoroughly.
"Y/N-chan!" Kaminari called, rushing to catch up with you.
"It's Shirakumo," you responded, apathetic. The blonde, usually smiling and happy, instantly cringed at the correction, knowing it was a slip up on your side as you hadn't even noticed the words slip out until you spoke them out loud.
"Sorry," you mumbled, continuing to walk.
"No, it's fine," he shrugged it off, smiling again, though you could clearly see the tears sparkling in his eyes.
"What'd you need anyways?" You asked, trying to shift the topic.
"Bakugo he-" Kaminari began, though trailed off. "Nevermind."
"Kaminari," you asked sternly, knowing that the information the boy had would decide who's ass you were kicking later on.
"Nothing it's fine," he shrugged it off.
You scoffed at that, handing the boy a tissue.
"You're a bad liar, y'know that?" You sighed, watching as he accepted it.
"Sorry," he mumbled, rubbing his eyes before pocketing the piece of paper.
"What'd the prick say anyways?" You asked, curious.
