"I'm sorry, it was an honest mistake," you sighed as you sat in your dorm room, speaking to someone on the phone.

"It wasn't, you knew from the beginning you would have to sacrifice yourself and did nothing to prevent it," Aizawa scolded. "Did you learn nothing, Shirakumo Y/N?"

"I learnt that I don't owe the world shit, people will always hate me and criticise me no matter what I do," you scoffed. "I'm a public figure, a famous one at that, I can't be expected to walk around trying to cater to everyone's opinions."

"I'll have you picked up Y/N, I would like you to visit Aoyama with me," Aizawa requested.

"Why, for someone else to blame me for the pain I caused them?" You argued. "Do you even care about what the class did to me? How they reacted when they found out I was alive?"

"You caused them pain, it's only natural to feel anger," Aizawa glared. "Get ready, the car will be there in ten minutes."

And just like that, he hung up, having placed newfound guilt on your shoulders as you attempted to hold in tears. At times like this you'd go to Mei for support, or even a piece of advice, but that wasn't an option now.

You were lonlier than ever, your friends and love having all left you, your mentor being disappointed in you, just when you needed them most.

The world truly was a cruel place.

You choked back a sob and wiped your face clean, throwing on a jacket before wheeling yourself to the elevator and out to the parking lot.

Aizawa was quick to get out and help you in before folding the wheelchair up and placing it gently into the trunk. He returned, taking his seat next to you as he signalled the chauffeur to drive.

"I must say, I'm more than disappointed in your recklessness," Aizawa began. "I expected it of your brother, but you? I expected better from you."

"I'm his younger sister, what do you think?" You snarled. "You know my history, you of all people should have realised that I'll do anything to escape this world."

"You're lying," he breathed, though the fear was evident in his eye.

"Am I?" You asked. "Am I lying Shouta?"

The rest of the drive was filled with a tense silence, one that was only broken once you reached the hospital Aoyama stayed in.

Both of you entered, guided to the cell the student was kept in, monitors hooked onto him as a doctor stood next to you explaining all the readings.

"From the examinations we conducted, we noticed nothing particularly extraordinary," the doctor explained. "There are no problems with his brain waves or bodily functions either."

"It was the same case with Lady Nagant," you remembered, the death of the antihero still as memorable as a scar to you.

"It seems only those to fell into his control once he was defeated by All Might were rigged," Aizawa concluded, observing Aoyama's behaviour, scrutinizing his every move. "Are you afraid?"

The blonde gasped, looking up in shock to meet the eyes of his teacher, surprised that he'd been so easily figured out.

"Consider yourself lucky to have such good friends who stood up for you," you glared, jealousy nipping at the back of your head. "Not all of us have that privilege."

"What are you scared of?" Aizawa pressed. "All for One?"

"Yes," Aoyama whispered, voice wavering as he refused to meet your eyes. "I'm also scared that I'll never be able to twinkle like the rest of them."

Your glare deepened at his confession, for you were still sceptical about the criminal even being compared to the people in your class.

"The more they believe in me the more confidence I lose in myself," Aoyama continued, on the verge of breaking down. "Even if I took their hand, I always think that if he appeared before me again I'd do the same thing all over."

"That's what scares you most," you concluded. "Disappointing the people who believed in you and trusted you despite everything all over again."

"That's why I don't want anything to do with this anymore, I just want to go somewhere and hide," Aoyama sobbed. "And just die!"

The cold concrete walls were filled suddenly with the strained sobs accompanied by your cold hearted laughter.

"It's not that easy," you scoffed. "They care. I don't. We're living in a post apocalyptic world in which you could be the key to victory. You're a criminal, I don't excuse it, but I'm willing to do anything to avenge the deaths I saw. You don't have a choice, you're just another soldier. And we fight until we die."

"I get that, I really do Shirakumo-San! But still, I can't help but feel that I don't deserve it!" He sobbed, and for just a split second, you saw your own fearful eyes in his.

"Perhaps we're doing the same he did to you, using you for our own interests, we aren't any different," Aizawa began, eyes downcast. "But I'm not going to let you back down and be forever tormented by your sins I won't let you go down some dark hole. As long as I'm in charge of the hero course, I will take care of all the students."

Your breath hitched briefly, hope igniting once more in your eyes. Though you remembered one crucial detail. You weren't part of the hero course anymore, you were a hero who served the society now.

You were no longer under his care.

"To live a life full of remorse and regret, that's not what I teach my students. Even if you feel miserable and pathetic, you must walk alongside those who lend a hand to you," Aizawa advised. "We will protect you, I can safely say that, because as long as you're with those guys you will be ok."

"But how is a criminal like me going to be helpful to anyone?" The blonde whimpered.

"You forget that this is a war that I'm the general of," you reminded. "You have more people on your side than you may think."

"You'll be walking alongside all of us," Aizawa finished, waiting the blonde's response.

Though you were more concerned about his purple haired protege who would be thrown into the war with little warning.

Confidence replaced the fear that once harboured his eyes, the usual spark returning to them as his eyes lit up.

He really couldn't stop twinkling.
