Endeavour was a man that many admired. Perhaps it was due to his physical prowess, or maybe it was due to his intellect. His ambition maybe? Or the constant hunger for challenge that lit his eyes.
However, like many idols, he too carried a dark cloud. And clouds were something you could navigate.
"Tough day, huh, Endeavour-San?" You asked, sitting opposite the man, handing him a cup of tea.
He was hunched over his desk, black turtleneck highlighting his obvious eye bags. He was clearly trying to figure something out about the code that you'd recieved, yet only kept on coming back to the same conclusion.
"The doomsday is in four months, Shirakumo-San. It's more than just a tough day," he groaned, gratefully accepting the tea.
You sighed, taking the book away from him.
"That's four more months we have left to enjoy life with everyone before they die," you reminded him, closing the book. "We'll plan well, appoint Eraserhead or someone commander. He's smart."
"How many deaths you think we'll have?" He asked you, genuinely concerned.
You thought about it, remembering the video Hawks had recently sent you, encompassing the entire Paranormal Liberation Front. They had a huge army, with multiple lieutenants. Compared to that of the heroes, which was a ragtag group thrown together with no clear commander, they were better structured and had a clear upper hand.
"They'll win, that much is for sure. But we've got to prevent them to our best, maybe we'll stand a chance that way," you sighed as you came to a conclusion. "If we're talking deaths, I bet at least half of the heroes will die or be in critical condition."
Endeavour's eyes widened at your dark prediction, having expected something more optimistic and hopeful from a teenager. What he failed to realise was that teenagers often saw the world more realistically than adults did.
"Let's keep everyone safe and give it our best," Endeavour sighed, giving you his hand to shake. "So far, we're the only ones that know."
You shook his hand, nodding, before reminding him of one crucial detail.
"I don't agree with you being the number one hero, and I believe many others don't either," you began. "However, your heroism makes up for your terrible personality. So don't disappoint those who look up to you."
With that, you left his office, book in hand. He was stressed, for good reason as well, but it got to a point where it was damaging his health. Endeavour was evidently strained, both mentally and physically, to a worrying point.
A week had passed since you'd begun interning under Endeavour. Every morning your friends would come in to the office, beat up and bruised, claiming they'd almost caught a villain faster than their mentor. Twice you joined them, only to arrest the sidekicks instead of the main menace.
This morning was no different, with the trio still cleaning up.
"Katsuki-kun, your gauntlets are broken," you commented, looking at the boy who was brushing the mud off his boots.
"I fucking know Air Head," he grumbled. "My costume's messed completely."
You sighed, rolling your eyes as you examined the damage.
"It's not too heavy, I should be able to fix it," you mumbled, looking at the fallen pieces and small circuit damage in the interior.
"You know tools?" Bakugo asked, scoffing.
"Of course, we can just leave you without equipment for a year which would make you weaker than Izuku-kun," you commented, pretending to carelessly throw it in.
