'Y/N please, you can't just cut me off,' Aizawa scoffed incredulously.
'I just did,' you glared. 'Eri thinks we're fighting and we might as well as be, you didn't have any right to underestimate me and talk condescendingly in a meeting!'
"You fine?" You asked, helping Hawks up.
"As fine as it can get in war," he sighed. "Nice shot."
You nodded, pursing your lips.
He was a villain, but did he deserve to be electrocuted? You could've killed him and you weren't even sure how many others you could save to compensate.
You looked down as Hatsume fell unconscious in front of you.
The first time showing her your quirk, the two of you were in first grade, and you'd nearly killed the one friend you'd made.
You'd never lose control again.
"You can't fly, I'll lift you on a cloud and steer you," you informed, lowering the cloud so that you could help Hawks onto it.
He was barely conscious, walking as if drunk, voice raspy as it was clouded with ash. Tokoyami joined on the cloud allowing you to steer it.
"We'll get you first aid, hang on," you whispered, trying to keep them both awake. "Survive."
"I'm sorry," Hawks whispered in response. "Twice-"
"You blatantly disobeyed my orders," you sighed, pursing your lips as you navigated the battlefield. "If we don't win, it was an unnecessary kill. So for your sake, I hope we make it."
Hawks nodded, tears pricking at his eyes, yet he wiped them away as soon as they appeared, and slipped into unconsciousness.
Tokoyami on the other hand, had tears streaming down his cheeks as he realised that you were trying to minimise the death toll, and you'd known about the war for longer.
"Is Chargebolt alive?" You asked, looking up at Tokoyami.
'Rescue squad, you're mostly students,' you informed. 'Use your knowledge, you have a license. They will trust you.'
'What about the ones that aren't on the rescue squad?' Denki whimpered, knowing what your answer would be.
'Recon and Frontline, you'll be sorted according to your quirk,' you sighed, sending him an apologetic glance.
"If he dies it's my fault," you whispered, looking down as you scanned the field.
Heroes fighting villains, villains fighting heroes.
People fighting each other to protect their beliefs.
It was a bloodbath, everyone was bruised and mangled, not even a single person walking out unscathed.
You let one hand go from your staff, looking down at it to see the first cuts appearing.
"He's alive for now," Tokoyami informed you.
'For now'
A phrase you'd all used as no one knew the outcome, no one knew who'd make it.
Families would be torn apart, friends would be traumatised and relationships could be broken because of the stress of war.
A war that highlighted the flaws of the hero system.
You agreed with some of the villains' points, equality needed to exist as well as less discrimination. In a society where everyone you knew had a quirk, that was very common, quirkless people being bullied and others harassed for having a 'villain quirk.'
Too many people discriminated, too many had suffered the fate.
Those that weren't strong willed or weren't helped by someone ended up a villain, seeking revenge against those that did them wrong.
"Tsukuyomi! Cloud Nine!" Fat Gum yelled from below the three of you. He quickly noticed the state you were all in and changed his demeanor, redirecting you to the medics.
You nodded, allowing Tokoyami to use Dark Shadow to fly in the direction.
"Remember you're hurt as well, take it easy," you pointed out, trying to avoid the possibility that he neglected himself.
With that, you took one more glance at the battlefield below you.
Shigaraki had awakened, causing destruction everywhere. Your classmates were desperately trying to stop it, however everything he touched turned to dust. Now, it had more power, almost as if he'd gotten an upgrade.
Your eyes widened with realisation as you looked for Midoriya, trying to locate the greenette.
Power upgrades were rare in a world with quirks. They only came with frequent training or booster drugs. Of course, there was the exception of One for All and All for One.
Twin quirks that rivaled each other, twin brothers trying to best the other.
Similarly, Shigaraki had no idea of the residence of One for All in Midoriya, however he was ready to kill the boy. Midoriya, on the other hand, would figure the quirk out but would do everything to stop Shigaraki from falling down that pit.
"Deku-kun!" You yelled, flying down to the evacuation site. "Get Bakugo-kun, we've got an issue."
Your wording as well as the stress in your voice made it clear what the problem was, as Midoriya scurried to get his friend.
With that, the three of you took off, Midoriya and you in the lead as you summarised your theory.
"Don't act like you're the main characters!" Bakugo yelled from behind you, catching up.
"This isn't the time to joke, we've got a major threat," you hissed, instantly making Bakugo shut up.
Toga was wreaking havoc as well, having gone completely mad after the loss of her friend, so now the ground was nowhere near safe what with Shigaraki's destruction and Toga's bloodthirst.
You glared, trying to form a solid plan, as Midoriya's eyes lit up with sudden determination.
"We're getting hero backup, Shigaraki mentioned OFA," he stated, pointing to the com.
"Then you need to stay as far away from him as possible," you questioned, confused as to why he was charging right in.
"Remember Ragdoll from the Wild, Wild, Pussycats?" He asked, jumping ahead, barely giving you time to think.
You were someone who thought a lot, it was your strength. Speed wasn't your strong suit, it was Iida's. Long range combat were Kaminari's and Bakugo's. Close combat was Midoriya's.
But thinking?
You could think, it was why you were appointed head strategist and general.
But people like Midoriya and Mirko didn't like giving people time to think, because in that time, lives could've been lost. Lives that they could've saved.
You pursed your lips as you remembered what happened on the night of Kamino Ward, Bakugo realising as well.
The same night Ragdoll had lost her quirk, Search, to All for One in the rescue operation.
"He'll find you either way then," you stated dryly, to which Midoriya nodded. "Let's help Endeavour then, at least that way we can knock Shigaraki out."
It was a bold statement for you to make, knowing very well that Shigaraki possessed any quirk his predecessor had and could take quirks as well.
But you would protect Midoriya until your last breath.
The vessel of One for All cannot be killed or damaged at any costs.
A/N: we're getting to the thick of the battle soon, can't wait for Y/N to die
QOTD: when do you think she should resurface? Like say that she wasn't dead, all that
Have a great day/night :)
