— Part 4: Begin! —

Fog clouded your mind as you regained consciousness. Your surroundings were filled with a bright white light, something that had gotten all too familiar with your recklessness.

You couldn't feel anything, you were completely numb, yet you could still move your fingers. Small movements such as flexing and relaxing.

What the hell had happened to you?

Doctors rushed to your aid as they noticed you'd come to, running tests in different rooms to ensure your safety, but that wasn't the biggest of your concerns.

Your bed was next to the window, giving you full view of the chaos in the city you'd grown up in.

The monuments were filled with graffiti and other forms of vandalism, buildings had been torn down and people were on the streets protesting.

"It was the war," a voice sighed from next to you.

Fluffy green hair with beautiful emerald eyes, ones that used to sparkle every time they met your own. But now they didn't sparkle anymore.

"Midoriya-San, please," one of the doctors responded strictly. "She just woke up."

The boy looked out the window, watching the city, glare etched on his face as his frustration grew.

You attempted to speak, but found your throat to hoarse for that. Instead, you slipped your fingers into his, giving them a gentle squeeze of reassurance.

He looked down in surprise, emerald eyes meeting your large ones.

He scoffed, pulling his hand away from yours, getting up to leave.

"Either you tell her or I will," he threatened the doctor. "I'm getting a coffee. She better have a clue on the situation before I return."

You raised an eyebrow in confusion, turning back to look down at your arms.

Truth be told, you didn't like being confused. Midoriya was awake and well, but his sweet personality had deteriorated completely into one that could rival Bakugo's.

What had happened while you were unconscious?

The last thing you remember was a deafening scream, one that haunted your nights even before the war.

"Some tea, General?" The head doctor sighed, propping your bed upright so that you could sit.

You cringed at the title, the memory of all the lives you'd endangered still fresh in mind. You shook your head, gesturing for him to forget the title.

"I understand your regret and need to withdraw from the title, but I think you may find more solace in it once I tell you about the current situation," he mumbled, pouring himself a cup and sitting next to you.

Your eyes instantly widened, normally happy ones pooling with regret and fear.

"You're getting a speech assistant made, it should be here soon," the doctor informed. "Until then, let's stick to sign language or charades."

You nodded at his suggestion, gulping as he stood up to grab a clipboard.

"This has all your information, the damage inflicted on you, your status, everything," he informed, handing you the file to read through.

The first page was basic information, name, birthdate and such. One thing that stuck out to you, however, was the status. The small category directly above your affiliation, usually marked as alive, was now marked as deceased.
