A dark figure sat in front of you, smokey wisps coming out from the sides of his metallic body. He was sedated, yet you could still easily tell who it was, even without the murderous aura.

"No fucking way, it has to be a mistake," you gasped, turning to Tsukauchi, hoping that he could confirm that it was all just a mean prank.

"I'm sorry, Cloud Nine," he whispered.

The detective had confirmed that the Nomu were made differently than they originally thought, with a second option of fusing multiple quirks together to create one singular quirk also being available, much like they'd done to Kurogiri.

Both Tsukauchi and the hero by his side later said that it's only a possibility that Oboro was the base body, since the quirks were similar, yet they had to make sure it was.

The two teachers sat in front of the window, peering into the Nomu's cell, unsure of what to say to the man that used to be their friend.

"AFO has evil motives, that's all there is to it," you stated bluntly. "Let's get this shit over with without overthinking it."

Aizawa sighed, though agreed with your statement.

A man who hoarded quirks for his own benefit was not a good person. He altered people, changed their lives, changed the way their families looked at them. To think that he had any other use for a strong quirk, like your brother's, other than using it for his puppet army was simply naive.

"Y/N, sit down," Aizawa sighed. "You don't know him like I do."

It was truly ironic how your brother was someone you barely knew, someone you couldn't help even if you tried.

"No," you scoffed. "Knowing him has nothing to do with this, I don't know anyone I rescue but I still fucking do it because I'm a God damn hero."

"Cloud Nine, you are right, but the best way we could shock him out of this state is by making him remember something," Tsukauchi reminded you.

You pursed your lips, squeezing your eyes shut as you tried to stop the tears from escaping. This mission was just another reminder of how useless you were, a liability.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Something the heroes could do without, something that slowed down operations no matter how hard you tried to help.

"Right," you breathed out, having calmed yourself a bit.

You sat down next to Aizawa, looking up at Kurogiri through the thick glass between the four of you. It fogged up a few times with every breath he took, the sound ragged and slow.

"He's sedated, isn't he?" You guessed, watching his breathing slow down dangerously.

Gran Torino nodded, holding the door open for Tsukauchi.

"If you think our past life can bring him back, you're wrong," Aizawa mumbled, the last words before the pro and the officer left the room.

A thick silence coated the room, each inhabitant wearing a different expression as they saw the sight in front of them.

Kurogiri suddenly woke up, the sedation beginning to wear off as he looked at Aizawa.

"I haven't seen you since the USJ incident," he muttered, yawning.

You gave Aizawa a side glance, realising that he had his quirk activated and was doing all it took to not break down.

"So he's made up of the fog," you laughed ruefully, the dry sound escaping your throat before you could stop it.
