'Cloud Nine, are you sure you won't be joining the hospital raid?' Rock Lock asked you one last time.
"We need to survive at all costs, remember?" Denki tried convincing you, arms wrapped around you as he absorbed the electricity from the quirk wielder.
Endeavour, Mirko, Hawks, Present Mic and Eraserhead were all leading the hospital raid to avenge your brother and multiple innocent civilians that had been killed for All for One's benefit.
"Why did you jump in, you're supposed to move forward," you choked out, helping him absorb the electricity.
Weather came with the benefit of being able to control lighting, meaning electricity rarely affected you. When you'd finally gotten your refiner for lightning, one that absorbed all kinds of electricity, you were automatically more useful against electricity wielders.
"Because I help anyone I care about, even if it takes the life outta me," he smirked, standing up for you to see his newly developed lightning rod function in full action. "You're our commander, so get out alive."
"That the best you can do, deceiver?" A voice boomed from across the field.
The villain with the electric quirk steadily walked closer to you while the troops advanced, as you caught sight of the first league troops.
"They've sent in Violet, Black and Brown!" You yelled, standing up. "Stay on guard and protect yourselves!"
With a chorus of agreement, you left the leadership to Fat Gum, with Kaminari insisting you to leave to safety.
You regretfully agreed, helping him by zapping the villain with lightning to stun him before flying off in the direction of Gunga Mountain, where you'd set camp.
'Why here, exactly?' Rock Lock asked at one of your meetings.
'No, it's genius,' Hawks began. 'We'd be centre of communications, their only escape would be the mansion!'
'So you really think we're going to win?' Eraserhead asked, to which all of you looked down. 'Our commander is a child, troops are a tenth the size of the Front and they've got all kinds of drugs and weapons that we don't have. You really think we can win this?'
'I'm willing to die to make sure we do,' you sighed, coming to a conclusion as you glared up at anyone who defied you.
'Y/N please, you're sixteen,' Aizawa scoffed.
'Yet I was chosen over you,' you reminded. 'So, Lieutenant, I suggest we go back to strategy. Unless you have any better plans, that is.'
You groaned as you remembered the incident. Aizawa and you had barely interacted since then as both of you had gotten enveloped into the thick of the strategy, distance growing further, only worrying the small girl at home.
'N/N-chan?' Eri asked, tugging at your sleeve one night. 'Are you and Mr. Zawa fighting?'
You looked down at her, unable to break her heart any further.
'No sweetie, we're only very busy with hero work,' you lied, sugarcoating it for her.
She didn't need more heartbreak.
You soon saw sight of your friends and classmates, and prepared for landing.
"Any good news?" You asked as soon as you made contact with the grass.
"All escape routes are sealed," Sero grinned.
"Good, patrol the area," you nodded. "We don't know how long the war will last, so if we go past night set up camp and get as much sleep as you can. Take shifts."
Everyone nodded as they realised how dire the situation truly was, agreeing to your points.
'I've sent location! Mark Twice!' A panicked request came through your com, startling you.
And just as promised, Twice's current location showed up on your phone on the hero network.
"Shit," you muttered. "I'm off, I got another place to be."
With a short goodbye, you flew off to where the network said Twice would be. However, one of his clones was running toward Toga and Compress.
Mr. Compress was a large threat as he could hold infinite amount of people in tiny marbles he created, and could capture heroes or release more troops. Either was a problem.
So you went into a surprise attack from above, swinging your staff at his arm.
"Ow, what the fuck hero?" He yelled, grabbing a few marbles as Toga got her blood quirk ready.
The three of you were stood on top of a giant rock based villain that only the owner could control, Gigantomachia.
His owner was rumoured to be "Shigaraki", however there hadn't been any sightings of him yet.
"Toga-chan!" A third voice yelled, crawling up Gigantomachia.
You looked down to see Twice, tears streaming down his cheeks.
"Hawks he killed me, you were right!" He cried out as Toga tried to make sense of his words.
"What, no!" You defended. "I ordered him to defend, not kill!"
"Your friend disobeyed them then," Twice coughed out, the clone taking its last breath as it turned to slush in Toga's hands.
"Murderer!" Toga yelled, lunging at you.
"I promise, it wasn't me!" You defended. "I don't want to break your family apart, he seemed like a nice guy!"
"Toga," Mr. Compress glared, pulling her back.
The girl broke down crying into the older man's arms, unable to avenge her friend as the person opposite her was innocent.
"He was my best friend, never hurt anyone, how could you!" She screamed to which you silently accepted the words.
She needed to get it out of her system, frustration and agitation bottled up would only kill her from the inside.
So you accepted her words.
"I'm sorry," you whispered, avoiding her glance.
"Sorry isn't going to bring him back, a sorry won't fix the lack of discipline in your troops," she snarled, lunging at you, quirk ablaze. "So I'll do the honours of killing the general myself."
You pushed her off with your staff, glaring at her thought process.
"I have friends too, they'll be in just as much pain as you were when Twice died," you reasoned, however she continued to attack.
"They deserve it!" She cackled, slashing at you with her knife, each hit which you deflected.
Until she sought out a blind spot at your collar, and aimed her knife there.
She only landed a scratch as you dodged it in time, however you'd lost something far more important then.
"Got you," you whispered, grabbing the necklace before it could fall even further.
You pocketed it before turning to Toga, glare etched on your face.
"Your blood tastes nice," she mumbled, licking her knife. "You should bleed more!"
Fear took over your eyes as she ran towards you, as you stood frozen with little escape.
She saw the glint of fear and knew at that moment that she'd won the battle.
You'd lost.
QOTD: favourite villain?
A/N: this chapter's p fast paced but we'll get a combat soon along with everything else.
I'll be explaining a specific detail of symbolism soon so feel free to guess what it is.
