The next day was filled with lessons of various subjects that you desperately tried to stay awake through.

Last night's shift was messy, with you only coming home at 8 after the discussion with Hawks. Followed by a quick dinner, you instantly headed out to patrol, desperately trying to find even the smallest bits of evidence for your case.

Midoriya was clearly shooting you worried glances during class, knowing you were a top tier student who juggled multiple things.

He himself had singlehandedly experienced how difficult it was to handle both school and a secret case.

"Shirakumo-San, that will be a detention if I catch you drifting once more," Ectoplasm glared as he pulled you out of your daze for the fifth time that morning.

"Sorry sir," you mumbled, going back to the maths worksheet.

Out of the corner of your eyes, you noticed Kirishima and Kaminari glance at you worriedly, though the latter shifted his focus almost instantaneously.

That evening wasn't much better.

You were all in the common room, eagerly waiting for Todoroki and Bakugo's arrivals after their final provisional licensing exam.

Most were preparing a party for the two, though they purposely made sure you took a nap after seeing how tired you were.

There was always someone with you, whether it was Kirishima, Midoriya or Uraraka, someone was always there.

Occasionally, even Denki would take a seat for 5 seconds before getting up, pain evident in his eyes as he covered it up with a bright smile.

"Can I help ya'll?" You asked drowsily, standing up to make yourself a tea.

"Shirakumo-chan, take some rest," Midoriya practically begged you, dragging you back to the common room, teacup in hand.

You looked up at the boy as he pressed you down into a sitting position, hands on your shoulders.

"Please?" He asked, the concern evident in both his voice and body language.

"Didn't I tell you to call me Y/N?" You smirked, though listened to him and pulled a blanket over yourself, curling yourself up on the common room couch.

It wasn't long before your two friends returned, though it was still well into the night. Uraraka woke you as soon as your classmates heard their footsteps, ready to surprise them.

"Congratulations!" Everyone called as soon as the door opened to reveal the two snow covered students.

You were scrolling through the news on your phone, having gotten immediate updates.

"Nice job," you complimented, smiling slightly as you finished reading the article. "Want tea?"

Though before they could respond, you received a call.

One too good to decline.

"Sorry, I'm going to have to leave the party," you excused yourself, walking past Todoroki and Bakugo out the door. "I've got an important call."

The caller was Tsukauchi, hopefully bearing new information.

"How good is the news?" You asked instantly, picking up.

'Uhh not good,' came the response. 'There's been a rumoured sighting of her, I'll send the file with details.

"Don't," you responded, surprising the male on the other end.

'Cloud Nine I will not hesitate to come and arrest you, you realise this right?' He asked, getting increasingly suspicious of your loyalty.

"This isn't Toga," you scoffed, annoyed. "Listen, we've got a messy case on our hands and I know that you're working on at least three different ones as well. The last time we got a lead, it was practically a fever dream. I know why, but I've been sworn to secrecy. Don't act on the case yet, let it stay until we've got a concrete lead. My number 2 is Mirko now, contact her please."

You explained your entire plan, receiving quiet sounds of affirmation from the other end.

Then, silence.

"Tsukauchi-San?" You asked, concerned.

'Will do,' he sighed, apprehensive. 'Please stay safe.'

You scoffed, hanging up on the detective without a further word.

The man cared for you, that much was evident. But he seemed to be scared and cautious of every move you made, knowing you were infamous for your recklessness.

Turning around, your eyes met the vermilion eyes of a long gone friend of yours, his, widened in fear and worry, while yours widened in shock.

A/N: shortest chapter with just 695 words, but that was intentional.
