"Oi Air Head, we're meeting All Might," Bakugo informed you that afternoon.
You were sat in your dorm room table mere minutes ago when a knock alerted you to reveal the duo.
"And this affects me, how?" You asked, leaning against the door frame.
"You know about his quirk, and you always had our backs," he stated. "Why do you think Deku even got some control of those strings?"
"I'm not meeting All Might Katsuki-kun, I wasn't even supposed to know," you reminded, declining his offer.
"Well Kacchan wasn't supposed to either, and he wanted to meet you to talk about today's hero training!" Midoriya continued, trying to convince you.
"Izuku-kun, I wasn't even there," you scoffed.
"Listen just come along, you won't be disappointed," Bakugo groaned, dragging you.
With that, you ended up in the break room, a skinny All Might talking about Bakugo's and Midoriya's improvements in training today.
"Shirakumo-San, I believe you caused a big improvement, both in them and in Todoroki?" All Might asked you.
"I just did what Endeavour asked me to, plan their missions and have their backs," you shrugged, crossing your arms.
"I see, so you didn't cause anything?" He asked.
"Exactly, they worked it out. I just gave openings for them to try it," you agreed, remembering the day you'd rescued Natsuo.
"That's absolute bullshit," Bakugo scoffed. "Remember that rescue against the thugs? Where we meet Hawks? You gave us an opportunity to see different ways of quirk usage, you even revived Deku!"
"It wasn't revival, it was-" you began, wanting to correct him.
"Doesn't fucking matter, but you doing background work made our cases go smoother and we improved faster!" Bakugo finished, sitting back down.
You sighed, yet smiled and accepted the violent compliment nonetheless.
"I think what Kacchan means to say is that you we're sorry, for what happened at the dinner," Midoriya rushed out, unsure how to do it.
You laughed as you remembered what happened, surprised the greenette still beat him up over it.
"Listen I don't hold a grudge against you, it was a spur of the moment thing," you told him. "I know that better than most, believe it or not," you joked, before turning to All Might, dead serious. "We're here to talk about his quirk aren't we?"
"Err yes that would be correct," he whimpered, taking out files.
Files of heroes that had served the nation as a hero or a social worker dating back to the first wielder of One for All, Shigaraki Yoichi.
"So Shigaraki Tomura is related to the brothers?" You asked as you saw that.
"No, we found no DNA match there, however we aren't sure who he's related to," All Might sighed.
"We should figure it out soon, compare it to all users," you advised. "I think he's a key component if he's going to inherit AFO."
All Might nodded at your thought before going back to his tea, the idea occupying his mind.
You didn't even know Shigaraki Tomura's real identity, considering that there was no DNA match. The lack of information you had on two specific league members would put Midoriya in certain danger, you knew that.
When the war would inevitably break out, the only ones with average information would be Hawks, Endeavour and you. Jeanist knew some details but wasn't told much due to his shaky state.
You sighed as you moved on to the next file, leaving Midoriya and Bakugo arguing about who knows what.
You'd toned out most of what they were saying, only listening to the most important bits, such as which quirk Midoriya would unlock next.
The rest of your mind was preoccupied with the oncoming disaster.
"Y/N-chan, what do you think about Float?" Midoriya asked.
Float was Shimura Nana's quirk, a beautiful lady who'd died young, like all other vessels.
"Uraraka would be good to teach you control of that, but you're at a disadvantage," you sighed, leaning back into the couch. "Katsuki, Sero, Jirou, Shoji, Tsu, and I can all go airborne with our quirks, we just need to perfect it. You need to perfect OFA, as well as Blackwhip, and on top of that learn float. How much are you going to do before you cripple from stress?"
The greenette pursed his lips, looking down at the two files he held in his hands.
"As much as it takes to make sure everyone gets saved," he mumbled.
You sighed at his reaction, knowing full well it was expected.
"Thanks for the tea, we'll be going now," you nodded to All Might, handing the files over to Midoriya to study. "Our class found an opportunity to relax."
The smile on your face as you said that last sentence broke All Might's heart. It wasn't a genuine smile of happiness, it was a rueful one that hid months of tears and trauma.
Class A had rarely had a moment to relax in their hectic lives. Now, they seized every opportunity, no matter how reckless it seemed.
It was the one thing that would be the downfall of Class 1-A.
Never relaxing, never being free because they didn't have the opportunity to do so, only made them more reckless.
They'd make fine heroes, you knew that, but that statement was only true if they didn't get themselves killed beforehand.
"You're stressed," Katsuki whispered, letting Midoriya walk ahead for once.
"So are you Katsuki, we're babysitting a vessel," you sighed.
"If you were stressed about that you wouldn't have tried figuring it out," Katsuki pointed out. "You'd have avoided it."
You raised an eyebrow, surprised that he'd deduced that much already. Sighing, you decided it was best to give him the smallest hint.
"Re-read the book Hawks gave with utmost precision, pay attention to what the number two hero highlighted," you stated, however the statement was still in code form so that you wouldn't instill fear in him.
Bakugo nodded, eyebrows furrowed at your cryptic message.
Bakugo Katsuki never got scared, so when others assumed he did, it was insulting to say the least.
The same could be told about you, you were a frontline warrior who would sacrifice everything to make sure others were happy.
If you were shielding your one of your closest friends from something, trying to protect the last of his innocence, he knew it couldn't be good.
Why?
Because Shirakumo Y/N wasn't a cryptic person. She wasn't someone who would deliberately shield someone from big news that she knew they should know.
So what had gotten you so uptight?
— End part 2 —
We're nearing the war and I don't know how to feel about it-
In the other book I wrote for the manga, we got there on chapter 15 already but we've gotten much further so yay I think?
QOTD: thoughts on Bakugo and Midoriya interaction this chapter?
Have a great day/night :)
