"Rise and shine" I felt the weight on one side of the mattress rise up and a strong light hit my closed eyelids, "It's Day Two of 'Louis' Winter Workout'"
I groaned, digging my face farther into the covers from the sunlight of the opened windows, "It's Monday morning" I complained.
"Day Two of 'Louis' Winter Workout'" Louis repeated with the same enthusiasm as before.
"I have work" I told him, deciding to sit up ad rub the sleep from my face, "Until the evening"
"Do you have work tomorrow?"
I shook my head, "I don't think so, business isn't very big on Tuesdays"
"Perfect!" Louis said sounding far too excited, but it was cute, "I'll see you when you're back from work" he ensured before exiting the room and into the bathroom across the hall.
-
The day at work was dull, all we did was tend to a couple customers and went home early. I've tried to suggest to Candace that being open on Mondays was useless because of the little to no service we get, but she's just slid it away.
As well as work just hasn't been fun anymore, Candace and mine's friendship has turned into a boss/employee business relationship. I lost my interest in it, and I can't quit because I argued to have that job back.
I unlocked the front door slowly, seeing the lights were turned off inside.
I took off my shoes in fear of them making noise whilst I walked on the wooden floors but that pointless because the chimney was running and small coughs came from the living room.
"What are you doing?" I whispered, taking my coat off and setting it on the rail of the few steps it took to go down to the living area.
Louis looked up from where he sat on the sofa, putting down a coffee mug he's been drinking out of and shifting his body towards me.
"Come" he patted the emoty spot beside me, "I made a cup for you too" he pointed to a red mug ext to his blue one.
I smiled, joining him on the couch and taking the mug that I noticed was filled with tea, "Is this apart of you 'Winter Workout'?"
Louis nodded, picking up his blue mug again, "Sure is, nuzzling by the fire whilst we drink hot cocoa on the sofa"
I looked in my mug again making sure I wasn't just imagining the tea inside it, but it sure was. I looked into his own mug seeing it was filled with tea as well.
"But we're drink tea" I giggled.
"I know, but you don't hot cocoa so I improvised"
I laughed, nudging his arm and looking at the flames in the chimney, "You're so stupid"
"Stupidly handsome" he said, but even he couldn't keep in his laughter,
"Yeah"
Louis looked over to me in which I pretended I couldn't see him "Do you remember the last time we were sitting by a fire?" he asked.
I nodded, taking a sip of my tea.
Louis nodded as well, looking at the light source.
We stayed silent for a mere few seconds before he spoke up again, "I think I might be declaring war"
I stared it him, confusion on my face.
"Remember how I told you love was like a war?" he asked having me nod, "And how in some wars people die and in other people find victory? Well, I think I might be declaring a war"
