"I can't handle you alone in that house anymore Vanessa" Liam said taking out two tea cups and putting water to boil.

"Then move back in with me" I told him sitting at the wooden chair that stood next to him.

"I have university to attend Vanessa"

"So you would pick that over me?"

"It's not like that-"

"Well you sure are making it seem like that Liam" I snapped back.

"Look, we don't have to argue. Soon no one will have to go back and forth between that house and somewhere else, we'll both be here-"

"I didn't make it Liam" I interrupted bringing my palm to my forehead.

"What?" he sat down across from me.

"They denied my entry" I groaned, "I got the letter like yesterday and they said I didn't make it"

"Why? You know what, I'm going to talk to the principal" he grabbed his shoes and began putting them on.

"No" I got up from the chair. "Liam don't it's going to cause nothing but trouble please, there's a reason they didn't accept me"

"It must be a mistake" he opened the door but I closed it just as he was going to walk out.

"I'll live" was all I said when he sighed in defeat and took his shoes off.

"But now what?"

"I don't know" I pushed my hair to the back of my head, "I guess I'll just wing it from now"

"Where are you going to live?"

"I'll find a place, but do you think for now I can..."

"You can stay here for as long as you need" he answered my question.

I gave him a thankful smile and hug, resting my chin on the crook of his neck. The whistle of the tea kettle interrupting us.

"I'm tired, I'm going to bed" I sighed crossing my arms and shuffling across the floor in Liam's slippers missing my own pair at home.

I put on a pair of his red plaid pajama bottoms and an old t-shirt then headed for the bathroom to brush my teeth. I scrubbed the tooth brush back and forth baring my clean teeth washed the utensil and placed back in the glass cup at the head of the sink.

I exhaled deeply lifting the brown shirt I had on expecting the new spots of red and purple on my waist.

"You got some too?" Liam made me jump leaning forward to the mirror checking his eye and back.

"Yeah" I said silently gently pressing my finger over the wound.

"They'll be gone, they always do" his glossy eyes met mine.

I nodded swallowing back the tears, I just wanted sleep.

I woke up to the sound of my cell phone ringing non-stop, I groaned slipping out of bed and to the floor where my jeans from yesterday laid digging in the back pocket.

"Hello?" my sleepy morning voice sounded.

"What happened? You said you'd be back" Harry's voice sounded annoyed.

"I stayed at his house"

"Who's house?" now he sounded angry.

"My brother's, who else's?"

"Oh" he calmed a bit "Why did you stay?"

"I didn't want to be at my house, too stressful"

"You could've stayed at the flat"
