After I had told the lady who I was she was more than happy to let me in. She told me my brother was already here and in the living room.

I walked to where I figured was the living area seeing Liam sitting on the couch with Sophia and Gen. When his eyes came to me he quickly got up to greet me.

Liam hugged me tightly, "There's something I need to tell you about Gran" he whispered.

I looked at him confused to what he said hearing footsteps come down the stairs. I thought it would be Gran but once I saw it was a boy I knitted my eyebrows. But then I recognised him, I gasped swallowing hard on the lump in my throat.

"Mum Meredith needs another pair of socks, do you know where they are?" the voice I've only heard twice said.

And he sounds so...

"They're in the cabinet across the hall, but before that come down" Johannah said.

No.

"Meet Meredith's grandaughter"

No.

"Hey, it's you" he said, my heart began to race until I figured out he was talking to Harry.

"You know him?" I said too quietly to be heard.

Harry thanked him for our car troubles making me even more confused but my pulse was going faster than ever.

"Hi" he said, "I'm Louis"

Louis held out his arms crossing them to meet me and Harry, we both shook either one of his hands and I hoped he couldn't feel that mine were shaking.

He smiled over to me and I can see the blue that I had mentioned before.

"Are you okay?" Harry whispered in my ear once he was gone.

"Yeah" I nodded wiping the sweat from my palms on my jeans.

"Vanessa" Liam tugged at my shirt, "I really need to tell you something"

"Do you want to meet your grandmother Vanessa?" Johannah asked taking my other hand.

I nodded then looked over to Liam, "Can it wait?" I asked following Johannah up the wooden stairs.

"But Vanessa" I heard him coming after me.

We walked up to a door that was open ajar, Johannah held her finger up to her lips signalling to be quiet and opened the door.

I gasped seeing the woman on the bed with nubbins in her nose and an oxygen tank at her side.

I looked over to Liam who looked at me with worried eyes then back at her.

I slowly walked closer where Louis stood putting woolen socks on her small feet.

"G-gran?" I choked seeing her.

"She has cancer" Louis whispered, "Her lungs are weak"

"But how-?" I began.

Louis cleared his throat walking over to where the tank was.

I sat on her bed touching her small leg feeling she was warm.

"Mum I think it's best if we leave Vanessa and her Gran" Louis said walking to the door.

Johannah nodded waiting for everyone to get out and closed the door behind her.

I bit my bottom lip holding back any tears to come.

"It's okay to cry" I heard a soft raspy voice say.

"You're awake" I said sounding weak.

"Who am I speaking too?" she asked sitting up a bit.

"It's Vanessa" I said wiping a tear that escaped.
